Each student will be provided a station with a 20" iMac Intel Core 2 Duo and Logic Pro 8, a MIDI Controller Keyboard, and the official Apple Certification textbook 'Logic Pro 8 Beyond the Basics (Apple Pro Training Series)' by David Dvorin. Although not required, it is recommended to bring your own set of headphones.

The curriculum taught is the "Logic 301" official Apple curriculum that prepares students for Apple's Level 2 Logic Certification. Students will take the Apple Certification Logic End User Level 2 Test at the end of the 3rd day of class. Students who complete 80% right answers or more will get Apple Certified.

This course picks up where the 101 "Introduction" class left off, and presents many advanced concepts on how to use Logic Pro in a professional situation. It goes deeper into the different tools Logic offers, and also shows you how professionals apply those tools in their productions.

Both experienced Logic users and newcomers eager to fast-track their skill sets will find invaluable methods for manipulating tempo and pitch, editing Audio and MIDI tracks, and creating high-quality mixes.
This course takes you step by step through Logic's powerful advanced features, showing you why many of the world's top producers, composers and engineers make Logic Pro the centerpiece of their music studios. Starting with advanced setup, this course covers everything from production, editing and mixing, to notation, scoring to picture and composition. Throughout the class many professional secrets are revealed regarding how to streamline production workflow, accelerate editing tasks, effectively manage takes and organize files, and construct a mix that will meet the most exacting standards. You will discover powerful advanced techniques for multi-track recording, beat mapping, comping, Apple Loops.. You will also explore the limitless potential of Logic's audio instruments, including Ultrabeat, the EXS24 sampler and the revolutionary Sculpture, a new addition to Logic Pro.

About the Trainer:

David Nahmani is a Composer and Producer. He is the author of the Apple Training Series book Logic Pro 8 and Logic Express 8. He co-wrote and did sound programming for five songs for the MTV series The Real World and Undressed, and engineered and produced three classical albums on Decca Records/BMG for the Bernard Calmel Orchestra in Paris, France. He produced a remix for Switchblade Symphony released on Cleopatra Records, composed for films, licensed songs for TV and Film, and programmed XF MIDI songs for Yamaha. He is hired by Apple to teach Logic at public events such as Remix Hotel (Los Angeles, CA & Miami, FL), Taxi Road Rally, Ascap Music Expo... He is the director of the Los Angeles Logic Pro User Group. He publishes LogicProHelp.com, one of the leading online resources for Logic Pro.
