Each student will be provided a station with a 20" iMac Intel Core 2 Duo and Final Cut Studio (including Soundtrack Pro 2), and the official Apple Certification textbook Soundtrack Pro 2 (Apple Pro Training Series) by Martin Sitter. Although not required, it is recommended to bring your own set of headphones.

Course Description
This two-day class guides you through using Soundtrack Pro to edit audio files, repair field recordings, perform multitrack arranging and mixing, synchronize audio and video, analyze and fix common audio problems, and perform other creative sound design techniques. This course focuses on practical, professional techniques used to add professional music and sound effects to video and multimedia projects.

Who Should Attend
This course is designed for Logic Pro and Final Cut Pro users who want to learn the basics of audio content creation, destructive audio editing, and mixing in Soundtrack Pro and who prefer hands-on, interactive instruction to best explore the functionality of Soundtrack Pro.

What You Will Learn

  • Using single and multitake recordings, editing audio files, repairing field recordings, and fixing common audio problems

Prerequisites
Students should have the following prerequisite knowledge prior to attending the course:
  • Basic knowledge of Mac OS X
  • Basic knowledge of audio terminology is recommended

About the Trainer:

David Nahmani is a Composer and Producer. He is the author of the Apple Training Series book Logic Pro 8 and Logic Express 8. He co-wrote and did sound programming for five songs for the MTV series The Real World and Undressed, and engineered and produced three classical albums on Decca Records/BMG for the Bernard Calmel Orchestra in Paris, France. He produced a remix for Switchblade Symphony released on Cleopatra Records, composed for films, licensed songs for TV and Film, and programmed XF MIDI songs for Yamaha. He is hired by Apple to teach Logic at public events such as Remix Hotel (Los Angeles, CA & Miami, FL), Taxi Road Rally, Ascap Music Expo... He is the director of the Los Angeles Logic Pro User Group. He publishes LogicProHelp.com, one of the leading online resources for Logic Pro.
