Yeppers.
Thanks for the diagram. But I really need an architect/designer to fit a studio into an existing space (and/or build out on it).
TGC,

Hi Ski, I can't recommend one, but the "American Institute Of Architects - Los Angeles Chapter" probably can.
http://www.aialosangeles.org/content/working-with-an-architect
My guess is that you are fairly clear on your musical needs and intentions, which should make for some interesting conversations with the right Architect....
Then there are building codes, and zoning considerations, scheduling, etc.etc.
My father, through his steel shop, was a sub-contractor on two different live theatre buildings. Both Architects had completed specialized studies in Theatre Design. Hence my finger pointing to the Institute. ________________________ -----------------------------------------

| Possibly going to expand the South Wing. While the Lincoln Bedroom was up for grabs, I decided against it for reasons that the Martyred One was never renowned for his musicianship, per se. Besides, I'd hate to have the ghost of Mary Todd haunt me for such construction-related sacrilege. I'm sure you know what I mean. |

Steven Klein at "Sound Control Room" is very knowledgable.
He's in the Vally on Ventura blvd. Nice guy! I hired him for a consultation and did most of the work myself................but he handles the whole enchilada for lots of peeps.

Thanks, Shiv. Actually, the east coast will be lighter by two "I'm soooo over the cold, the snow, the humidity in the summer" types (they being me and my wife. Sorry, dog not included, as he's more adaptable). So all in all, natives of upstate New York and vicinity will likely be grateful to have been rid of two whiner/complainers.
Ironically, however, now that we're on the left coast, when people learn that we're from NY, they accuse us of bringing the current state of the weather with us to their otherwise non-Weather Channel-newsworthy climes. The current state of rainy weather, hail, dangerous winds, thunder and lightning, even snow (as reported today over in Victorville, CA), all blamed on us. Sure, they make their little comments and outwardly laugh in lighthearted fashion. But deep down? Who knows how they really feel...
" "
OK, enough of my idle banter. Though I think I have a great head-start with the information kindly provided above, any other recommendations would be also be appreciated. I like options! |
