digibit
Hi! Since I use my Edirol UA-25 in combination with Logic Pro 9 instead of Sonar, I cannot get the output signal through the external interface anymore after recording some stuff. During the recording, I hear everything in my headset connected to the output of the interface but when I play it afterwards, no sound is coming through the output anymore. I do hear the sound through the built-in speaker of my macbook however. I don't think there's something wrong with the interface since I hear myself during the recording in my headset. Is it a setting in Logic? By the way, I'm using Snow Leopard on my macbook, but I've downloaded the right driver for my interface so that can't be the problem either... Can someone help me on this please? Many thanks!
Scott Jackson
Logic Prefs>Audio>Devices>Core Audio>Output Device (set this to your interface) Logic Prefs>Audio>Devices>Core Audio>Input Device (set this to your interface) Make sure the Enabled box is checked. If this doesn't resolve the issue then go to: System Prefs>Sound>Output (set this to your interface) System Prefs>Sound>Input (set this to your interface)

Scott Jackson
Other ideas? Have you gone through the Troubleshooting section of the Edirol UA-25 Manual on page 55 titled No Sound? http://www.roland.com/products/en/_support/om.cfm?PRODUCT=UA%2D25&iRcId=1811490&dsp=
digibit
I have gone through the troubleshooting very precisely now but it's still not working.. Thanks for helping me!
digibit
OK I've found it! Apparently I have a 'REC/PLAY select switch' on my interface.. And I also have an 'Advance mode select' switch. When that 'Advance mode select switch' is turned on, I can only record or play dependent on the status of the 'REC/PLAY select switch'. But if the advance mode switch is turned off, I can play and record at the same time. The problem was that de 'REC/PLAY switch' was on REC modus and the 'Advance mode select switch' was on. Weird situation. You might think that the Advance modus would be capable to use REC and PLAY simultaneously and not the other way around. But nevermind, it's solved:) Thanks again for your help! digibit
Unfortunately, when using the standard driver mode of my interface instead of the Advanced mode, audio signals are transferred at a bit depth of only 16 bits and a sampling rate of only 44.1 kHz. Roland even recommends using the advanced mode when using software like Logic Audio but as I said before, you can only either record or play something using the REC/PLAY button and you have to constantly disconnect and connect the interface when switching between both modes. It's not really a Logic Pro problem anymore now but I just wanted to mention this problem..
Jordi Torres
you can only either record or play something using the REC/PLAY button and you have to constantly disconnect and connect the interface when switching between both modes. According to the manual, that only applies when your working with a 96kHz sample rate: 96 kHz REC/PLAY select switch When using the UA-25 at 96 kHz, this switches between 96 kHz REC (recording) or 96 kHz PLAY (playback). If you change the setting of this switch, you must disconnect the USB cable that connects the UA-25 to your computer, and then re- connect the USB cable. So set the sample rate to 44.1 or 48, with advanced mode on...and you should be fine. J.
