Buzzing sound with Motu 828 and Logic

Hello,

does anybody made the experience with a Motu 828mk2 (firewire) and Logic, that every time you open Logic a extremly high frequency sound is buzzing out of...hm I don't know (I think from the Mac), but definitly not the speakers. It's not very loud so if you play music from Logic you will not recognize it.

If I put my ear to the Motu in my rack I hear that sound also even if Logic is not open but much more quiet.

Any ideas what this could be?

Try a hardware reset of the MOTU:

Follow these steps to restore the 828mkII to Factory Default Settings.

Disconnect the firewire cable from the 828mkII

Press the Setup knob

Turn the Setup knob all the way to the right

Press the Select knob

Press the Value knob

Power off the interface and plug the firewire cable back in

Power the interface back on

Hey guys

when I listen to projects in logic through my motu the sounds seems to be a bit distorted and not clean. But when I listen to the same project in logic but with my speakers now coming through the head phone Jack on my mac and not my FireWire cable and through the motu, the sound is clean.

Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks Hester

2 years later but I just found this tip as my 828 had suddenly stopped working with logic.

I was at the end of my tether - deadline tomorrow and no sound!

Sorted!!

Thanks David :D
