juca
Hi, whenever I try to record enable an audio or midi track from a template, this message appears: Record drive/partition "MPC 2" not found! But then it opens the folder so I can choose the location. Any tips? Thanks [attachment too large - deleted by ADMIN]
fader8
I'd venture to say that the project was originally recorded on someone's machine that had a drive named MPC 2. Go to File-Project Settings-Recording tab and change the recording drive. Resave the template.
David Nahmani
Actually a better way to take care of this problem is File > Project > Consolidate then click OK. I always recommend against setting your recording path manually.

David Nahmani
juca, some of the factory templates were saved with a record path pointing to the "MPC 2" drive of whoever designed the template. It's nothing YOU did, but Fader8 was right, that's what happened.
fader8
Hi, I never recorded anything but on my mac. Thanks But apparently whoever made the "original" template did. Actually a better way to take care of this problem is File > Project > Consolidate then click OK. I always recommend against setting your recording path manually. Thanks for that tip David. I've always started a new project folder when using templates so I never ran into that. I could see how that would be dangerous though. Quite a few of the templates that come with Logic are like that. Pain in the neck. Save as project should always update the record path, but unfortunately it doesn't. Bluespro123
David, I have posted about the same thing. Do you"consolidate" before you record anything? What does "consolidate" do? Bluespro

Bluespro Yes. It updates your record path to the audio files folder inside your project folder.
jnobucks
I too receive the "MPC 2 not found" warning so I did as suggested and consolidated. That cleared it up however, it appears to save the sounds within the template to my project file and immediately turns my project file into a 100 Mb file. My issue is that I probably won't be using these sounds, is there a way around this. Should I avoid the templates and just make my own? jnobucks
Correction; my file becomes a 2Gb file, not 100Mb! Even with my 500Gb Glyph external, I can't afford to start every project with 2Gb of info. Please help.
David Nahmani
When consolidating as a project, keep all the settings on "leave" except Audio Files which you can have on "copy".
jnobucks
of course, that would make sense. sometimes my aggrevation clouds my thought process. Thanks!
