503records
Can someone please tell me the difference between serato's pitch 'n time and the one that comes with Logic (7.2)? Is there a difference? They look the same... Also, is it possible to automate a global pitch adjustment? I'd like to refrain from automating a global tempo adjustment to get an effect like the song was suddenly sped up or slowed down. An example of what I am trying to recreate would be like if you were playing a record on a turntable and grabbed the pitch adjustment and dragged it down quickly, or just turned off the power and let the record spin to a stop.. Any suggestions? Thank you all in advance.
David Nahmani
Serato Pitch 'n Time LE is just an algorithm for Logic's Time and Pitch Machine. So you use Logic's interface, but the algorithm is much higher quality than the ones included with Logic. For your tape-slowing-down effect, bounce the whole mix, load it into the EXS as a sample, and use the pitch bend wheel to slow down. Make sure you adjust the Bend range to an extreme value in the EXS.

Just to add to that, Serato can also be chosen as the algorithm when you timestretch regions in the Arrange. Does the EXS timestretch then? No. Not in the sense you're referring to. ghosttrax
So if you pitch bend a sample it's gonna lengthen or shorten it, it won't keep it the same time?
