Hi all.

Here's a file that has the Hyper Set event definition for an entire 18-piece BFD2 kit... complete with event definition names that match BFD2's interface.

There's a 16 bar loop with some notes thrown in to show what it looks like.

A word of warning: do not import this into your templates or projects, rather copy and paste the event definitions. Importing causes all the definitions to be reordered by their note values, and as any BFD2 user knows, the hits do not go in order of note values.

A second word of warning: I have changed one of the default mappings in BFD2, namely A-1 is no the Hihat Open Shank, instead of the Slot 16 cymbal's Edge Hit ... simply because the former is just used more than the latter in my repertoire. Anyway, the attached file has the BFD2 mapping applied to it, so you can save it down as you please.

Now, I no longer need to worry about BFD2 not reading Logic time signature changes. I can create or edit my parts in the Hyper Editor and when finished, simply export the midi file and bring it back into the BFD2 editor (I do this for the nice, live humanization/quantization effects that the BFD2 editor has that Logic doesn't).

Feel free to comment or suggest changes.

Smile

damn, that sounds like a sweet plug-in...notice how they tried imitating Brann Dailor (of Mastodon's) drumming on the first audio demo on their webpage

Yeah, it's pretty sweet.

As a non-drummer, it works miracles for me. I get by with some decent programming, as well as having a lot of grooves to start with ... I can only imagine how much more realistic it could sound in the hands of a real drummer playing off a live electronic kit.

Well, this looks promising but I still need a tutorial on how to use this. Any chance you could upload a logic project file that has this environment in use?

Hey beatnik.

There a project with it all set up in my opening post. It's pretty self-explanatory, but feel free to ask any specific questions if this isn't clear.
