South Thames
Hi there I have a whole bunch of VST plug-ins from my Cubase days I want to be able to use in Logic 9.... So, problem is the ONLY VST-AU wrapper that exists as far as I can see is FXpansion -- which has a heftier price tag on it than I thought it would. Are there any others at all? I guess I would be willing to pay it, but I'm worried about comments I've seen regarding Intel/PPC compatibility. I have Steinberg Virtual Guitarist and Halion Strings among other that I'm particularly keen to use -- but these were made in the days of pre-Intel Macs and I'm now using an Intel Mac. So, does anyone know if there's an issue wrapping these plug-ins because of this? And any alternatives for VST-AU plugin wrapping generally? fader8
And any alternatives for VST-AU plugin wrapping generally? Indirectly, yes. Both Plogue Bidule and NI's Kore can be loaded as plug-ins themselves, and they can host VST plugs within them, instruments or effects. As far as Intel vs PPC, I can't comment. rpacker
I would not recommend FXpansion, they have not upgraded their wrapper for a couple of years and it is hopelessly out of date with the current Mac OS. I would be interested in an alternative myself for using VST's in Logic.

sirvandy
Has anyone used the new version 2.0 of FXpansion's VST to AU adapter? I am thinking about getting it, because I have been forcing Logic Pro 8 to read and accept my Steinberg Halion Sonic as an un-verified AU, and it has been causing repeated crashings of Logic.
