tovinho
Does anyone know if there is any diference between using the glue tool to create a new waveform or export them to create a new one? I ask that because a friend of mine told that using the glue tool may cause some sync problems. Personaly, I never noticied anything wrong. Thanks Tovinho
steveH
Wow, I did a test and it's true: I made three identical audio tracks each with a region at zero (the song start) and another region placed 6 minutes in on the timeline. Track 1's regions were left untouched. Track 2's regions were merged (using the glue tool). Track 3 was exported. Here are the results: Track 1 and 3 remained in perfect sample accurate sync. Track 2 (the merged track) was slightly out of sync: it seemed to have lost some samples and was a bit shorter! Who would've guessed!! THis was performed on a 17" Wintel Laptop running 7.2.

anthonyw
so does this mean that the glue tool is pointless?
BleuNoir
It's definately not useless... The glue tool is invaluable for editing midi regions. I haven't had much experience editing audio regions with it, but if it really 'unsyncs' your regions i'll pass on that :s
David Nahmani
I really never use the Glue tool for Audio. I just use 'J' for MIDI Regions, which works the same as the glue tool. I usually leave Audio alone unless I want to bounce with the plug-ins for example, which the gule tool doesn't do.
rhetoricwall
Does anyone know why the waveform changes when you glue audio together? Is this merely a GUI flaw or has the waveform actually changed?
rhetoricwall
Sorry to double post but to add to this... if you glue two pieces of audio together or export this same audio to merge it the two will be very phasey wtf lol omg ?
