jaspeR
hi all! I use the midi in on my liquid saffire 56 to record midi signals from a yamaha p-90 in logic 8 (macbook pro 4.1). starting today, every new midi region bears a little 'X' symbol. can anybody tell me what that means? attached is a screenshot of one of those midi regions. thanks, greetings jaspeR newly recorded midi region with x symbol
fader8
It means your keyboard is sending rogue system exclusive messages. Download MIDI Monitor: http://www.snoize.com/MIDIMonitor/ This will show the message in real time while you tinker with the settings on your Yamaha to try and get it to stop. beej
X indicates a MIDI sysex event, as you could see by simply opening that region in the event list. Other MIDI events displayed include CC messages (little grey bars), pitch bend and notes, and other things.
