shlubdub
Hi, I've just bought a TL Audio Fat-1 compressor and want to use it in Logic Pro. I'm not experienced at using hardware at all, so I'm a bit lost. I know I need to connect the the compressor to my sound card (saffire pro 26), but then how do I compress individual tracks and sub mixes? Use the 'external effects' plug-in? There is probably a really answer for this! Cheers.
creationcollective
yes. Use the I/O plug in on your individual channel or aux track. Set the input and output channels on the plug in to the physical inputs you used, click the ping button to set the roundtrip latency and compress away!! shlubdub
Thank you. Forgive me, I'm quite new to this... Where is the i/o plug in on the track? What's the 'ping' button?!
creationcollective
Read the getting started manual. At the top of a channel strip is an oval. Click and hold until a pop up menu appears. Locate I/O I think in Utilities (not at my music computer!). Do the settings like I said, the ping button is at the bottom of that plug in window. Be sure to setup the ins and outs before you ping. You will hear a click in your monitors and input on your compressor if you set it up correctly. You will need to bounce down in real time when the time comes.
