  1. Umm, found it! In any MIDI editor: Functions > delete MDI Events > Duplicates... or D on the keyboard.
  2. This thread gets to the Key-zones on controller issue....Anyone know how to get rid of the doubles? - Magic transformer setting?
  3. Oops Here's the same version with the floating window in screenset 1...as I intended. Also you can assign a footpedal to the switch... talkback-B.zip
  4. Here's a talkback button. Its built on a seperate environment layer so you can import. Screenset 3 shows the layer in edit mode As the Talkback mic comes up to 0dB, the cue send and monitors dim Change the cables from each of the event monitor outs to suit your setups. Hope you like it! Stephen talkback.zip
  5. Thanks for the pointers ChicoSatis, I'd forgotten about the automation to Region functions and visa versa...They will be useful. There must be a better way to import, though. Here's the context: A Hip Hop band has given me 2 LP8 projects, the backing track (and guide Vx) in one project and lead vocals / doubles etc.. (on 50 odd tracks!) in the other. Both projects have been mixed (full of plug ins, automation and Aux returns etc). I'd like to keep their work as is and mix the project as one project... That's why I'm looking for a "clean" way to import data where there is as little room for error as possible. I guess I'm looking for the LP equivalent of PT's Import Session data. Hmmmm head scratcher, this one!
  6. Question: What is the best way to combine tracks from different LP8 projects (into 1 master project) ? I'd like to include audio files, automation data, plugins and edit points. Anyone have ideas? Thanks Stephen
  7. Try this: Export from PT using BWF (broadcast wav file) reference a timestamp before you save file. In Logic import to track and use the "move region to original record position".... Not sure where this function is on LP7 but its in the Arrange page local Audio menu on LP8. Otherwise you could always consolidate your file startng from a whole bar number on PT and line it up to that bar number on LP7. Good luck!
  8. Thanks for the replies - here are some clarifications: One console: The LP8 control surface manual (page 237) steps through the DM2000-LP8 set up. At the end it says : "You should see three DM2000 (USB 1–3) icons in the Setup window, aligned horizontally." ....I only see One (console) Icon. I'm going to check the DM2000 Firmware version later today. Using the DM 2000 JUST as a control surface? Nope! We use the analog inputs and most of the digital inputs too. We're a little 5.1 post studio inside a Film school in the South of France. I think you've put me on the right track - I will post useful findings.
  9. I'm running `logic Pro 8 on Tiger and `i'm trying tp use a DM 2000 as a controller (remote page ). I have followed the instructions in the control surface manual but only get 1 console in the control surface page. Does anyone have any ideas? should I update firmware / drivers? Thanks for any input you can give.

    Comping drums

I used group tracks and all works fine. Thanks for that!
  11. What do the "ClassA_R" and "ClassA_U" algorithms stand for? Are they modelzations of specific equipment? This question's been bugging me for a while now! thank for any insight.

    Comping drums

Here's a simple question: How do you comp drum tracks? I usually record drums onto 10-12 tracks depending on the kit. Quite often, if we're in sync to picture we'll do the drums near the end of a production, do several takes and comp down the best bits. I cannot find a function that links the "swipe comp" functionality across all the drum tracks.....so I use folders, but it's a bit long-winded, unpacking take folders, packing folders, editing folders (you can't see transients at this point) etc... Ideas anyone?
