  1. nvm, I figured it out, it has to do with my interface, that seems to be causing the issue. my workaround is to use the interface through a virtual audio device. works without issues.
  2. Hi! I have an issue with logic I'd never seen discussed on any of the forums out there. On my mac studio this happens with any version that's above 10.7.0 Basically even with medium sized project the playback performance is terrible, when I start playback it starts playing back for a second, then restarts from the starting point 3-4 times before actually playing back continuously. Even then sometimes things play back out of sync and full of glitches. Also the UI performance is significantly diminished and laggy. This happens on my M1 Max Mac Studio. The same projects on an M1 13" macbook pro work perfectly fine on 10.7.9. or any version that's laggy on my mac studio. This makes me think it's not an actual CPU issue.. 10.7.0 runs very smoothly on the mac studio, but it's quite annoying as I'd love to use some of the new features in the newer versions. Also 10.7.0 is unable to install any of the logic stock sounds, gives me an error every time. This is a smaller trade off that I can live with for the time being, but would love to figure out what the issue is with the later versions.
  3. might be, but my guess is that I probably updated logic around the same time I got the Lyra. altough can't remember exactly. The reason I tried downgrading now, is that I read on another forum, someone having similar playback issues, and for him downgrading Logic solved it as well. He was using apollos and focusrites.. Seems to me these last few Logic updates are just not on the top of their game when it comes to reliability. I also had another minor issue, being that sometimes plugin presets would take 2-3 seconds to load. That's also gone on 10.7.0.
  4. In case anyone has a similar problem: going back to Logic 10.7.0 solved it for me. So after all it looks like it wasn't an issue with the Prism Lyra, but something with the new Logic updates..
  5. Yes it does go away then. Also tested with that Logic Pro Benchmark project that's circulating somewhere around here. With the built in speakers selected, Logic can playback around 20 more tracks than with the Lyra.
  6. It definitely started when I switched from the Apollo to the Lyra 2. That's why i'm thinking the reason for the issue isn't a Logic thing. But at the same time wondering, what's the difference between the system overload and a restart in playback. The cpu meter does spike when the restarts happen.
  7. Sorry my signature isn't up to date. I'm on Logic 10.7.5.
  8. I'm on macos Monterey. the lyra 2 software was up to date, the firmware wasn't so i updated that, but the issue still persists unfortunately.
  9. Guys I was wondering, there's the "standard" system overload in Logic, when the playback stops and you get the system overload message. But i'm also encountering another type, in which case the playback just restarts from the point it was started originally. I switched to a new interface recently, from an Apollo Twin to the Prism Lyra 2.(night and day difference, frankly the apollo converters are subpar imo). but with the Lyra 2, i have this thing when sometimes i start the playback and after 1-2 seconds the playback would restart 2-3 times and usually the 3rd time it continues as it's supposed to. While it's playing back the cpu is nowhere close to being maxed out and once the playback starts successfully it never unwantedly stops or stars again. I'm using an M1 Max mac studio so have plenty of cpu headroom. I'm thinking this might be something about the Lyra 2 not communicating fast enough with the mac? cause it's clear that the cpu itself is not the issue. Did anyone else encounter something similar? or someone knows whats the difference between the regular overload with the message and this playback restarting type of "overload"?
  10. the same happens when using sidechain with the stock logic compressor, waves compressors and so on.. so I doubt it
  11. Hi, So I know there's been a huge thread for a long time about sidechain latency issues in Logic, but I couldn't find a thread with the exact issue i'm having right now. So simply whenever a sidechain input is selected on any track on any plugin (audio tracks, busses etc...) when I hit space for playback, the playhead flashes for like 2 seconds then starts playing. The sound and the GUI of the plugins compressors and such, and delayed with this exact amount, therefore making it extremely difficult to do precise work since the audio and graphics is sooo out of sync. The whole project plays back in sync, meaning there's no sync issues between all the tracks in the project. Only the huge delay after hitting space, and the delay between audio and graphics. The weird thing is, this only happens in one specific project which is really similar to all of my other projects full of sidechaining.
  12. okay but this raises a more global issue. So in this same project whenever I use the sidechain input of any plugin, the delay of the playback is back. Have no idea why this is, I'm using tons of sidechaining in other projects without this delay issue appearing.
  13. ok figured it out. had to go one by one, removing plugins and checking if the delay is still there. it was one C6 sidechain plugin that cause the whole thing. not sure why tho
  14. Hi All, So I have this weird issue with one of my logic projects. Whenever I hit play the playhead flashes for around 2 seconds, then starts playing. Also when I hit stop the same delay applies. Not only this, but the same delay applies for all the plugin GUI-s which is just really hard to work with. And again, the weird thing is this only happens in one specific logic project. So I tried turning off all the tracks, which didn't work. I also tried opening up a fresh empty session and importing all the tracks from the old problematic session. the delay is still there... When I turn on low latency mode, the delay disappears. So I tried removing all the plugins that are marked inactive when low latency mode is on. Delay still there... The low latency mode didn't mark any on the sends inactive. So here's my guess. Pretty sure it's a plugin latency issue, and that low latency mode in Logic does something that I'm not aware off, that bypasses this delay issue. But of course working in low latency mode isn't an option, since it bypasses essential plugins and the sound changes. Really hoping someone has an idea since it's really really hard to work in this project like this..
  15. Yes a tried that, but couldn't find them as a separate process in activity monitor
