Hello All,
I'm trying to find Logic's version of something that is really easy and straightforward in Ableton Live...
After the intro section of my track, there's a two bar ritard, then a pause (not metered) for a few seconds. Then, after that pause, a new tempo and time signature. In Ableton, you can simply right-click and insert a new tempo or time signature anywhere, then you can drag that event to the left so you could automate or record a count-in for playback...so you get the effect of coming out of nowhere after a fermata with a new tempo/new time signature, but WITH the benefit of a count-in (in the in-ears) and the ability to snap midi events to the grid once this new section has started.
In this case, I need the new tempo to start at 0008 2 001, and then to be able to extend that back to the left so I can program a count-in, but when I try to add a tempo event there, Logic snaps it to the nearest downbeat, 0008 1 001. This is a super common real-world need when creating tracks for live playback and an in-ear mix, and I do it all the time in Live, so I'm sure someone out there knows how to do this in LPX - I just hope I've asked the question in a way that makes sense to you guys!
Thank you!
