I do that but then it stops what the sequencer is doing all together. When the sequencer is on it really produced a great beat, but I don't know how to pause it for certain parts of a song when no beat is required. Because it carries on even when I loop isn't there. My partner suggested just bouncing the loop and then taking that as a sample. I might try that later on.

Hi, I'm having fun discovering what the sequencer can do for the beats I'm creating, it's wonderful how it makes them sound so much better, however how can i get it to pause in a song? Even when I've stopped the sample loop the beat still carries on. There is a part of my song that doesn't need drums. How can I do this? Im never a huge fan of my voice, it does depend what Im singing though. I can sing other peoples song easily! I can vocally improvise and i like the sounds coming out of my mouth but then become disatified with my own song. But I am over critical. However my combat of this problem in my recent song is to talk over the bits I couldnt sing. I sing and layer up a lot of vocals in the chorus/middle 8th but through out the verse Im using speech (im not sure id call it rapping though) I love producing my own instrumentals so in a few circumstances I have got in people to sing for me. After mastering my song tonight Il post it up to get some opinions!

phew realised it was only taking in from the inbuilt mic, which explains it picking up my mic quietly and then not the Korg. Now Im combining trying to learn L8 with trying to learn Reason 4 and have come to the conclusion this isn't a good idea with the flu. The 2nd problem I had was recording the drumloops from reason onto logic. IO managed to get the drum loops wired to Logic but I dont know how to record them on to there, any help?

This is probably easily solved but as a newbie to LP8 im getting frustrated. I want to record my korg into LP8 and have taken my normal steps that I took in LE7. Creating audio track > rec enable and I have no problems. But when I do this in L8 it doesn't pick up anything. I tried a mic to see if it picked that up, and it did but only very quietly. It was rec off a mic though. Any help would be much appreciated. Iv taken a sick day off and want to make the most of the day to make me feel better lol

Im looking to buy a new external for my mac as my current one is starting to fill up quite quickly. I had a ex-HD for my PC but when I tried to play my music through my ex-HD it always copies to my mac HD. Is this because I need to get a specific HD for my mac? Any help would be cool

Logic 8 isn't too expensive compared to what it used to be luckily. I had a bit of a Daft Punk moment last night. The effects sound so much clearer its great!!

I havnt yet to upgrade to 8 (hopefully am getting it very soon though) To get the best compression I now tend to just go to the plug in's and find compressor. Usually the pre sets in there specify which instrument you are using and they come out quite well. Sometimes I use the multiband compressor but that is normally for my vocals. With reverb I fiddle about on each of the plug ins till I feel I have the right sound but I do get abit confused which rvb plug in best for each purpose. If anyone can say what the best uses for averb, goldverb, platinumverb are that would be helpful I am a newb to this forum, I studied Logic at college for a year 2 years ago but there are so many things I still need to learn! And so many things I also forget (but I think that its natural to forget things as a student )

Thanks for the advice. I watched the youtube vid, the guys really good!! Made me laugh. I cant use EVOC just yet as I only have express but Im in the process of getting Logic Pro 8 so I will give it a go when I get it. I have a vocoder on my korg but it doesnt give me the capability to control it in order to just make my voice clip abit.

I was wondering how to get a good "digital" effect on vocals. Artists like Imogen Heap and Hello Goodbye have that slight robotic sound. Can I make a similar effect through Logic Ex 7?
