  1. Everything is working fine with the project. I just don’t quite understand the multi instrument/ midi environment. I thought I had single midi tracks. But I might just deactivate the channels I’m not using as you previously mentioned, and leave it be. Thank you as always for the help and insight David.
  2. This is what I thought I was doing. But when I create the midi tracks, I select external, not instrument. Then deselect the “use external plug-in” box. Is this automatically creating a multi instrument?
  3. They do need to be on seperate channels. The cc/pc info is different for two Fractals and a Tascam vocal processor. Each on its own channel.
  4. Thank you David! That’s it! I don’t quite understand why my 3 external midi tracks are in a multi-instrument like that though. They are 3 seperate tracks created at seperate times. And they all output on different midi channels. What is the best way to setup a track to send midi cc and pc to a fractal?
  5. Hello! I’m trying to delete all the extra midi tracks when “all” is selected in the mixer. I’m opening the midi environment, selecting midi instr, but I can’t figure out how to delete only certain tracks. Some of the midi tracks are being used. They send midi to Fractals. But anything I delete will delete ALL the midi info. This is a live playback session. Everything works fine, I just want to clean up all the unused tracks. Worried that they are using CPU. I’m not sure how all these tracks got there in the first place, or what the small squares in the environment are. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
  6. Agreed with all of this. The point of the testing was that the M2 with less “cores” was better for music production than an M3 with more “cores”. This is because of the ratio of performance to efficiency. Kinda wild!
  7. This is exactly what I was talking about. There is a YouTube video showing multiple daws and track count processing. Only reaper and cubase used all cores, both efficiency and performance. Logic, Protools, and Abelton only use performance cores. My original post was just wondering if there was a way to spread logic out to all cores.
  8. So are you meaning spread it out by using multiple tracks?
  9. Thank you guys! As always, the knowledge and experience on this forum is just incredible.
  10. Hello! I’ve seen a few articles about how logic can’t use all the cores on the M3 chips. Is there a setting or something I’m missing that allows Logic to use the performance AND efficiency cores?
  11. I’m using a midi controller to navigate songs in a session for live playback. I’ve noticed there is only mapping for 20 markers. Anyway around that? Can you navigate to marker 21 and up with a midi controller. And I don’t like MainStage App, would rather work right in logic.
  12. That’s it! The VCA’s I’m trying to create have track stacks and aux’s in them. Works fine with single audio channels. Updating now. Thank you!

    VCA Issue

Hey guys! I’m not sure what’s going on here. I can create a VCA with no problem. Group my drum channels to it and name it “drums”. All works as it should. But when I try to put guitars or anything else on a second VCA, it just automatically assigns everything to the original and renames it from “drums” back to “VCA1”. If I open a new blank project, create 5 empty tracks, I’m able to create multiple VCA’s and assign them any way I want. Is something wrong in the session I’m working in with all my recorded tracks? Setting I’m overlooking?
  14. Has anyone ever run across this? When I zoom in all the way, certain parts of the audio file have gaps. If I slip audio within the region left or right, the missing section of the region stays in place, so that it’s just a different part of the file that’s missing. The gap stays in place, just affects the audio that’s now in that position. No audible clicks or pops. The pic is one zoomed all the way in, and one zoomed a single step back from that. Waveform appears and disappears. Is this a bug or do I have a major problem with my tracking? I’m on Catalina, and the most current logic version to date.
  15. Yea, bounce in place. I just have a habit of checking regions I bounce in place with null testing to the source. Only takes a couple of seconds and I like the piece of mind. Anyways… thanks for taking a break from making music to chime in.
