  1. I forgot about composite devices. The Fanton does appear as an audio device. I set up a composite with it and the iD14 and made it the input and output in Logic. It didn't affect the output. There may be some settings I'm missing.
  2. Yes, I have the latest driver as well as the latest update to the Fantom, 2.1 IIRC. It's set to vendor. I'm pretty sure I would be getting audio to the computer if it wasn't. I suspect it may be a generic problem/challenge: On playback, Logic Pro send MIDI commands to the Fantom or any other MIDI device that has its own samples. The device generates the audio output and sends it via the USB cable back to the computer. Up to this point, it all works for me. As mentioned above, I use Audio HIjack to route the audio to the same output device being used by Logic Pro. Instead of using Audio Hijack, can I use Logic Pro to route the returned audio to its output device? Now that I think about it more, this might cause timing issues as a result of the round trip from the Fantom.
  3. I recently got a Roland Fantom and have been trying to integrate it with Logic Pro. I have a project that has both software instruments that are part of Logic Pro and some that are on the Fantom (i.e. they'll play on the Fantom without Logic Pro). When I audition or playback a Fantom Instrument, it doesn't play through the Logic Pro audio out (in my case an Audient iD14 set to input and output). Tapping keys on the on Fantom affects the level meter in Logic Pro (could just be MIDI). The way I get the audio to output is by using the Audio Hijack app on MacOS. I have a session with the input from the Fantom and the output to the iD14. I'm new to doing this type of thing so just may be unclear on the concepts. Is this how it normally works? Is the Fantom just sending MIDI data to Logic Pro and the audio data that it sends via USB is separate? Since I can hear all the audio, it's only an inconvenience at this point. I have a second Audio Hijack session that handles system audio. The Logic Pro software instruments pass though it. It's a complex set up so it would be nice to have it handle all audio. I did try adding an audio track to Logic Pro hoping to set it to the Fantom audio output as its input. It didn't work and I don't even know if it's possible.
  4. After a few restarts, the missing plugin entries went away on their own.
  5. I'm getting a file couldn't be open error when I do a rescan in the plugin manager. The plugins are Akai MPC essentials and VIP. I first tried to delete them by right clicking on the plugins. The remove option was greyed out. I then deleted the apps and removed the .component and .vst files from the system library. There are no plugins in my associated user directories. I don't get any errors when I bring up Logic Pro. I just trying to keep things clean. There must be entries for the plugins elsewhere. Where should I check? I put my details in my signature. This is my first post so I don't know they are all you need to know.
