  1. Yes, I want to revert to Big Sur. I created a Time Machine backup before updating. I switched from Windows to Mac last year and have never restored a backup in a Mac. Hopefully, there'll be no issue in downgrading the OS.
  2. After seeing Monterey in action in my wife's new iMac, I updated my M1 Mini from Big Sur to Monterey. I'm having compatibility issues with several plugins and programs. Has anyone downgraded from Monterey without an issue?
  3. The record standby mode is handy in real time recording especially when you want to lay down some initial ideas. It's just a little workflow enhancement for me. I didn't understand the point when I first encountered it like 20 years ago. Anyways, the Capture as Recording sounds intruguing. I'll try that this weekend.
  4. One thing that I love about Roland workstation sequencers is the "record standby." That is, pressing the record button once will put the sequencer into the record standby mode. The record button will blink and the sequencer will play the metronome sound without starting to record so that 1) you can choose the right bpm and 2) you can briefly rehearse the part you're going to record. Press the record button once more, and the sequencer will start recording. Can Logic's recording setting be configured similar to this? I haven't been able to figure out.
  5. I got my M1 Mac Mini two months ago after using Windows machines for 20 years or so. I absolutely love this little machine. What I love the most is its silence. I'm super sensitive to noise, and this M1 Mini is dead silent. All my instruments and effects work without an issue (Arturia V, Pigments, UVI stuff, Korg Collection, Cherry Audio, XLN, IKM stuff, Valhalla, TAL, Roland Cloud, and Waves One Knob series). I'm using a MOTU M4 interface, and everything is just fast.
  6. Yes, turning off MIDI activity did the trick. When I was comping fast on the keys, the chord display looked like a flashing white light. That's why I wanted to turn it off
  7. I find it distracting to see the control bar displaying chord names (I know what I'm playing). Is there a way to turn off chord name display? Couldn't find such an option in the control bar setting window.
  8. I've found a decent solution to my own question. Someone suggested me to play around with "Delay Designer." Its UI didn't work for me. I bought Valhalla UberMod and its Modulated Delay can sound pretty close to the Roland one.
  9. I really love the Modulation Delay effect in recent Roland synths (i.e., it adds a chorus effect to delay sounds). I've looked at LPX's delay plugins but couldn't find one that works like the Roland modulation delay. I've tried to achieve a similar effect with the "Tape Echo" but to no avail. Since I'm new to LPX, I might be missing something. Is there a LPX plug-in that does similar things as the Roland-type modulation delay? If not, what 3rd party plug-in can do what I'm after? Cheers.
  10. Thank you so much for maintaining this fantastic site! I switched to an M1 Mac Mini a month ago after using HW sequencers and Windows machines for 20 years. I'm having so much fun although there's so much to learn about LPX.
  11. ^That makes perfect sense. I guess the articles and videos just made a general claim.
  12. I've read a few articles and watched Youtube videos about how to use reverbs in Logic Pro. All of them pretty much say, "Place reverb on a bus." So, obviously, some people use reverb as an insert effect depending on situations...
  13. I’ve recently moved to LPX from Roland / Korg workstation sequencers, so forgive my ignorance! With the wet level set to full and the dry level set to zero in reverb (e.g., ChromaVerb), I can control the wet / dry balance by adjusting the bus send level. So, what is the point of having the wet / dry balance control in reverb? Under what circumstance(s) would you adjust the wet / dry balance from the reverb plug-in itself rather than from the bus send amount? Thanks in advance!
  14. I'm new to LPX. I'm a minimalist, so I've installed only essential contents (I don't need 70GB+ Logic instruments). However, I need to know whether additional library contents also come with additional effects. Can anyone tell me? Case in point: there's an additional downloadable item entitled "Reverbs," larger than 2GB in size. What is this? Is this a set of reverb algorithms? If additional library contents offer more effects, I might install them (I have 850GB free space left anyway).
