  1. Hi. There are no producer kits in DMD. I just used a producer kit on a track recently and matched the way that was routed with my DMD kit. Nothing special, just sending all kicks to an aux all snares to and aux etc etc etc. Creating tracks from those aux strips and having them all in the same track stack so when I save my patch everything is there. And I wondered that if I was letting my eyes tell me what was going on.... But no it is definitely out of sync. The routing is very straight forward. I take all hats and make the output of those bus 3. Then create a track from the aux that gets created and it goes straight into the track stack. I do the same thing with the snares on bus 4.IThen route those aux tracks back into the main dmd so effectively the main DMD track is the overall master track. I have a total of 8 busses used in the whole project at the mo and 2 are not even on. Not had this before and I have had much more complex setups. I keep finding weird stuff with Logic lately. Maybe lockdown has affected me somehow and I have no clue whats going on?
  2. I have just tested it again. Gone back to version that works and just rerouted some of the kit pieces through aux channels added no plugins. The version before adding the aux tracks work the version after the routing does not. What am I doing wrong here. I have just copied the routing layout from one of the producer kits.
  3. Hi thanks for responding. When you say latent plugins do you mean ones that inherently cause latency? And if so how do I solve the issue. I know I have a few adaptive limiters scattered around. And quite a few phat fx's.
  4. This is a small project with only a few tracks (7) at this point. Although DMD has about 15 tracks routed to four aux tracks within the stack. A lot of plugins and I am using a 10 core imac pro with 64 gb of ram so I do not understand why I should be getting any latency issues. Although this is not really latency is it? It is playing sounds early.
  5. I have a project where the sound is playing a few beats before the actual midi region on my synths but plays back on time on my DMD track I have been trying to find out what is causing this as it played fine on an earlier version of the project. So what seems to have caused it is a dmd track where I have done a load of routing within the dmd track stack sending all hats to an aux track within the stack etc etc as well as a parallel comp aux track goes to the stereo out but sits within the track stack. When I put low latency mode on in preferences the timing issue goes away. When I delete my drum machine designer track stack the problem goes away. When I go to a version prior to my re routing my instruments the problem is not there. Any ideas anyone? Thanks in advance. J.
  6. Hi again. I have done that and no change. It is very strange. Here is the procedure and it is repeatable. Track with 808 kick is - 6 to 7 dbs on strip with quick sampler providing the 808 on that strip main volume -12. I go off and fiddle around with some other not connected tracks or do some automation or bounce out a version then replay the master and 808 is playing at about -15 to -18. There is no change to the fader or the master volume on the quick sampler. At this point i hit save. Just save and then select revert to saved and the 808 kick is back to playing at the correct volume. Could this be a bug? -12 on the QS + - 6 to 7 on the channel strip comes to about what it keeps erroneously jumping to. Just a wild guess cos nothing else makes sense. Ta. J.
  7. HI. There no change on the fader. I have a midi key board connected but I am not using it. I am just mixing the track. It has just happened again. I played the track the 808 was correct. I went and tweaked some other tracks played it again and the gain db is reading -15 as opposed to minus 6 ish. Save project revert to saved and it now is correct again.
  8. Thanks so much, thats awesome. Gotta start learning some coding. I started a Python course but I gotta say I found all that typing counter to the creative process. I will persevere as you clearly can do magical stuff with sound and pictures if you can code. Cheers. J.
  9. Hi all. I have an 808 kick that is a preset that uses the quick sampler. I have set the quick sampler main volume to be -12 db. On my channel strip in the main area Ii have then set the volume to my desired position and I when I play the track I am getting about -5 to dbs. All good. I bounce it out but the 808 sounds very low in the mix. I reload my project, play it through and the kick is now saying minus 14 dbs. I then hit revert to saved project which should be the identical project to what i am now in and the one I bounced from, i play the track and the kick is now giving me the minus 5-6 dbs. I then set the channel strip to unity and went in to the quick sampler and set my volume there and this now seems to give consistent results. Does anyone have any idea whats happening here? There is no automation on anything. But just to recap. I play the track it sounds good. Save the project and at some point the ouptut of the strip drops by a significant amount. I then revert to saved and it plays as expected. But it seems if I set the channel strip to unity and instead use the volume knob on the quick sampler to set my final output I get consistent results. Clueless as to what is happening here. Thanks once again. J.
  10. That is exactly what I am after. Awesome, thanks.. J.
  11. Hi all. I have a patch that i have sent the kick and snare to a bus. That bus is then sidechaining a load of compressors in my track. About five I think. I just loaded an older version of the patch to check something out then reloaded the current patch that loaded with the project but the send was different. It still routed it the an aux track with the correct label. i.e drums sc but has the actual bus was different I have had to go through all my compressors and reroute the sidechain. Hope this is clear enough, any ideas. I also had Logic create two sends/busses with the same number? Thanks. J.
  12. Hi all. Sorry for the late response. Great suggestions and examples. The scripting one is great but beyond me. I do not know how to code but it does exactly what I am after. The Es2 example also does the correct thing but i do not use it, but that encouraged me to investigate further with alchemy and indeed there is a note end property in the modulators that does what I am after. But whenI have time I am going to dive into both those examples and try to work em out. There must be a way of doing the es2 xy envelope modulation in alchemy. Thanks. James
  13. Hi all. Thanks for the tips. Just got in. Will take a look tomorrow and lecha know what I get. Cheers. J.
  14. No Fisherking you are not dreaming. At least I dont think you are? the second response seems more like what I am after. Can't believe I did not think of the mseg. Thanks peeps. I will give the mseg filter amp thing a go. J.
  15. Hi all. I have created a bass pad that I want the note to kind of "pop" at the end of each note. I guess it is like doing a quick filter sweep on the end of each note. I am trying to avoid automation so I was wondering if anyone had any tips to achieve this. At the moment I have tried using a send to an aux sticking a reverb on the aux and then compressing the reverb signal using the source notes so the reverb engages at the end of each note. This kind of works but it is obviously not too defined. Is there some note property trickery I could use to drive a filter? I have spent a while playing around in Alchemy but no joy yet. Any ideas or tips would be very much appreciated. Cheers. J.
