  1. Hi Guy's, Pretty late notice, but wanted to share this for all the Music Producers / Engineers on my beloved logicprohelp.com forum that i have been a member of for some 11 years now. Thought maybe sharing this event (that i believe is pretty reasonably priced), could be away of giving back somehow to any forum members who see value in this and may want to attend this event. I recently came across this rare and unique opportunity here in Colorado, (Pueblo Colorado to be precise), to attend a Master Class with Russ Long, who is A Nashville Producer/Engineer. Also attending i believe will be special guest Mike Clark from The Haunted Wind Chimes & The River Arkansas. Official Facebook Link Here: https://www.facebook.com/events/224319041617879/ Date: This Thursday, August 30th Time: 6:30 PM - 9:30 PM Where: Perfect World Recording Studio, 301 S Main St., Pueblo, Colorado 81003 I just spoke with them now to see if there are still some spots available(there were), so signed up to attend myself. Few seats left so thought i would share this on as i feel this is a pretty unique and cool opportunity to expand your recording knowledge. ***Note, there are giveaways and from what i read, Russ works in Pro Tools (Gasp!), but obviously this is industry knowledge at the highest level and would cross over to Logic Pro. Thanks for reading guy's and if anyone needs to be hooked up with Accommodation, happy to host. I am in Denver and will be Driving down for the evening. My name is James and please PM me if you want to attend / want accommodation in Denver to attend. David, let me know if i should post this in another Forum?! Cheers James ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Official Info From The Website: http://perfectworldmusic.com/events/ Russ has engineered and produced a wide variety of music and film projects. - He engineered the hits "Kiss Me" and "There She Goes" by Sixpence None The Richer. - He has recorded and/or mixed albums by Wilco, Newsboys, Over the Rhine, Relient K, Dolly Parton, Jim Brickman, Amy Grant and Steven Curtis Chapman. - His film credits include the soundtracks to The Sapphires, Girl Interrupted, Here On Earth, How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days, The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything, Hannah Montana: The Movie, and She's All That. - Russ has done 5.1 mixes for Allison Moorer, David Crowder and Mercy Me and is in demand as an engineer for live sound recordings having multi-tracked live performances for Switchfoot, Chris Tomlin, Luke Bryan and Guy Clark. Over the past decade Russ has mixed numerous high-profile events and has been part of the audio team for numerous broadcast events events including 2018 Grammy Awards. - There will be many give a ways such as studio microphones & head phones. - Each attendee will leave with a multi track Protools file of a song played by Mike Clark's band. They can submit a mix to enter a contest for the best mix of the song and the grand prize is a set of JBL studio monitors! - Don't wait to sign up because space is limited… 40 seats available! - Early registration is $50 if you sign up by 8/27/18 - $75 if you sign up after 8/27/18
  2. I recently picked up a UAD Apollo and was looking at expanding further and getting the Dangerous Music D-Box for summing. Curious to hear back from other Logic users on their thoughts about the Dangerous Music D-Box. Obviously i have read reviews online but keen to hear from the community. Also, would like to hear from people what the quality is like on the Dangerous Music D-Box when using headphones. I live in a shared living environment so cant always use my monitors, would it really be worth the investment if a lot of music production is done on headphones.
  3. Hello, I have been out of the game for 12 months or so and wanting to upgrage my Mac Pro. I currently use UAD Quad on a 2008 Mac Pro (Specs Below). Was looking at getting new MAC (of some sort), and was wanting advice on how much $$$ to throw at it for Music Production using Logic, Maschine, Komplete and Virus. Are the New MAC Pros an overkill? Does an iMAC suffice these days? MacBook pro? Portability is not really a deciding issue. I am just more or less wanting best bang for buck in this day in age with the hardware thats available. Its soley for music production and dont want to splash on the new MacPros if they are an overkill for this task. I need to keep in mind that if possible i would like to keep my UAD QUAD running, currently this is in PCI slot in my 2008 MAC. Any advice much appreciated. Current setup is OSx 10.9.5 2 x 3 GHZ QUad Core Intel Xeon 10 GB 800 Mhz DDR2 FB-DIMM Ram
  4. Hi There, I did a clean install of Logic X on Mavericks. I purchased 32 LIVES so i could use some older 32 bit plugs (mainly sylenth) in LPX. However it doesnt load. So do i need to reinstall logic 9 first in Mavericks to load 32 bit plug version first of Sylenth? If so, how do you get LP9 now? Anyone come across this issue?
  5. Yes, confirming i installed Mavericks, Logic Pro, All My Soft Synths, Komplete 9 (Except Kontakt Library), UAD, Waves, pretty much everything that didt take GB's worth of Library Storage space. I have about 100GB free on the 240GB Intel SSD. My 1TB Samsung EVO arrives tonight, so i will probably start another clean install tonight of evreything and have everything insstalled on the 1TB SSD. I know it sounds crazy to start the install again, but, its that much of a breeze and as i forgot to order another General 2.5" SSD to 3.5" SATA Hard Disk Drive HDD Adapter from Amazon, the install will be done tonight which beats waiting the 2DAY prime shipping from Amazon for the Caddy I will report back with how i find Kontakt, Omnisphere and Trillian once they are installed. Thats what im really interested to see.

  7. Interesting Thread, im currently upgrading to SSDs as i got sick of Early 2008 Mac Pro constantly spiking the HDD meters. I have installed an Intel 240GB (335 Series i think), SSD into my drive bay 2 on the Mac Pro by using this a General 2.5" SSD to 3.5" SATA Hard Disk Drive HDD Adapter CADDY TRAY CAGE. (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00F3QFKNS/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) Clean install of Mavericks (via Bootable USB), Logic Pro and Komplete 9, Virus and other Virtual synths was complete within a few hours. It was a complete breeze and i couldnt get over how fast install was. Blazing Fast. Bootup time of Mavericks is less than 20 Seconds. I only installed a couple of Kontakt Libraries on the SSD (as the complete install is 200GB + just for Kontakt Libraries), so not enough room on SSD. With a 16 Bar loop, a hadnful of MIDI bounced to Audio Tracks, UAD, Waves, 15+ Soft Synths running. Virus and Maschine... there was barley a dent in the HDD meters in logic. I was blown away. Normally even this sort of load would have the metters right up there, even spiking and giving the horrid "Disk Overload" message. At this stage, its clear the bottleneck will quickly becmoe the CPU power of the 2008 Mac Pro. I have actually gone ahead and purchased the Samsung Evo 1TB as i want to get all the libraries intalled (Kontakt, Trillian, Omnisphere etc) Onto a SSD. Im aware it will drop down to 3Gb/s. I havent completly researched this, but I believe i could also look at purchasing the Sonnet Tempo Pro Plus SSD adaptor and potentially even get the 6 Gb/s on a 2008 Mac Pro. Question now is, at what point do you stop throwing $$$ at a 2008 machine.
  8. Hello all, Is there any site (maybe here even), that people release their presets for soft synths or hardware. I like to produce electronic music, trance inspired. I can easily make melodies, have good musical background, but i lack making "presets" for that "Sound". I have basic understanding of sound design. Done a MAC Pro video course here and there, but i am so passionate about writing the melodies and harmonies that i almost find the sound design aspect "tedious". So my questions are. (1) Is this normal of a modern day wanna be musician not to want to create his own "sounds", and (2) Is there some sites people could recommend some quality 3rd party patches?
  9. Mental! It does work! Dude i cant thank you enough, i was reading it as saving the plugin setting from the Synth itself, like saving a preset. Was bugging me out as i tried multiple times. Amazing how much clearer things become with a picture, it makes total sense now. Honestly J, cant thank you enough for this, I have never really used my AXIOM as i hated the way the Hypercontrol laid out the "default" mappings, it was more than useless. Now, with a little time and with the help of PLIST editor i will have this streamlined perfectly. Many thanks my friend.
  10. Hi J It was actually in this thread, page 1 9th reply down by "tim_chandler" He says... "Just a handy little tip on this subject. I found that you can extract the CSParameterorder.plist file from 3rd party instruments and plug-ins. To do this, you need to save a plug-in setting as "#default" to the default location to which the plug-in wants to save plug-in settings. You then save over this file with the same name and this will create a CSParameterorder.plist file for the 3rd party plug-in automatically." I tried this, with Massive as an example, it would only save down a #default.nmsv - even when renamed to CSParameterorder.plist it would not have the strings in there.. maybe i am missing something again. If you have a free minute, could you test? Thanks again J for all your help, you have always been so knowledgable, i really appreciate it.
  11. OK thanks Jordito, i appreciate the help. So basically, i just need to add extra strings (siblings in PLISTEDITPRO) if i need the added strings, then the way to match up and rearrange is to basically go though the Hypercontrol pages on LCD screen on Axiom Pro keyboard, count what string number say the Cuttoff filter is on a particular synth, then rename that orresponding string number in PLIST pro, finally move it into desired spot by dragging it up and down the list. Is where i was getting stuck was i thought i read that you could export all the strings for any given synth... this would make it a ton easier... Or am i still missing something?
  12. Can someone advise how do you know what string does what on a 3rd party plug such as Sylynth or Massive, and where do we put the CSParameterOrder.plist file once modified. I read somewhere you can export by saving a preset from the synth as #default but this did not work for me.
  13. can anyone advise how to export the PLIST file from 3rd party plugs, i tried following the instructions above bur cant get it for the life of me.
  14. Sorry for being a retard here, but how exactly do we get the 3rd party plug to export its plist? I tried saving a preset from the 3rd party synth as #default but i cant seem to get the plist file. I am using L9.1.7 on OSX 10.6.8 and as an example, i saved to the (USERNAME)\library\Audio\Presets\Native INstruments\Massive - folder but when saving a preset with the#default name it just creates a #default.nmsv file which essentially is a NI Massive file that opens in standalone mode once double clicked.
