  1. Catalina Version: 10.15.7 Logic Version:10.6.1 I use a behringer u-control UCA222 to connect my yamaha MG102c to my Macbook Pro (2016 with Thunderbolt/Lightning Ports). i wanted to upgrade to the focusrite 18i20 3rd gen. But I have recorded songs with the Yamaha that I want to put into an album. Will the sound be drastically different or noticeable if I switch my interface (correct term?) midway and finish recording the songs with the newly acquired focusrite?
  2. Says it is compatible, triplets. Great idea, thank you. That makes loads of sense JakobP, just wanted to ask the experts before spending all the money for it. Appreciate you all!
  3. Catalina Version: 10.15.7 - Logic Version:10.6.1 Can I still use focusrite (8 input) and not update my computer? I don’t have enough memory I am on Catalina I think. I have to get the specific number when I get home. but no reports of it cease working because a Mac wasn’t updated whether iOS or Logic Pro x? thanks for your time.
  4. Thank you so much. I sincerely appreciate your guys' help. I think I used to have the option to reedit the title for but maybe the new site doesn't allow it anymore.[SOLVED]. Thanks again you guys
  5. Thank you David for that explanation. After the focusrite, what would be your second and third recommendation? (Just to have options, and there are mixed reviews on amazon comments) These analog mixers like the Yamaha and Mackie Onynx 1640i are mostly used for monitoring of bands at live venues/adding effects? or what are they used for? And the audio interface is mainly used in conjuction with DAW's because of the ability to record multiple inputs (record multiple drums)? Or am I reading too hard and fast and these models just happen to be the way that they are for a plethora of obscure reasons?
  6. Thank you so much. Can you guys recommend what it is I am looking for? Goal: I want to record live drums with at least 4 mics as well as inputs for guitar, bass, vocals, and synth. One that doesn't break the budget? Possibly under $600? At this moment I don't know how to connect other instruments to inputs that aren't XLR or 1/4 inch.( I get confused sometimes because when I research mixers they say 10 inputs but I only see 8 actual 1/4 inputs and no XLR inputs so I am confused on how people are connecting more instruments, and also confused why they just don't include those 2 extra inputs in 1/4 form?) I end up forgetting how to recreate a sound because I have to switch back and forth plugging and unplugging. I heard about mackie onyx(1640i) and bought one long ago, but returned it after reading online about drivers no longer being updated and questioned whether I would even be able to keep using it. ( i loved the quietness and sound of it though.)
  7. No , the yamaha does not have a usb. thats why i use the uca222 adapter into a usb to lightning port. Thank you so much triplets. My last resort.... I have a presonus audio box. But that only has two places to plug into. Could i utilize this to gain more inputs (combine the yamaha and the presonus?) or must I buy an interface with more inputs? thank you so much for your help. still learning the differences between an interface and mixer.
  8. this is how i have it set up now. only because a friend taught me. i have no clue as to why they are plugged in, all i know is that it works. i wish i knew. but added the picture hoping it may help.
  9. Catalina Version: 10.15.7 Logic Version:10.6.1 I use a behringer u-control UCA222 to connect my yamaha MG102c to my Macbook Pro (2016 with Thunderbolt/Lightning Ports). I want to get more inputs to record live drums on separate tracks. However, whenever I go to my inputs in Logic, the max I have is 2. How can I get multiple outputs and still connect the Yamaha to my computer? Thank you so much. I like the new website design by the way.
  10. Okay, I will use the latch mode. Is this because I already have automation parameter data and so when I use latch mode it will overwrite and replace it with the new data? And I couldn't find a direct answer on google search. I know what automation view is, but may I ask what does write the automation offline mean?
  11. I hope its okay to post this here. Mac OS Catalina Version 10.15.7 8.21 GB available I have a bug that whenever I change the gain on a track, the volume doesn't change until I select scroll away to a different track. I wanted to update to 10.6.3, as I am currently on 10.6.1. I don't think I have enough space for Monterrey or Sur. Is there anything I can do or do I have to learn to live with this bug? Thanks for your time.
  12. I sincerely appreciate you David, thank you so much! Anyway to get it back to 0.0 specifically? Or just gotta time it right?
  13. Hello, TL:DR I want to reduce volume just for a second, then bring all instruments back in. (Same speed, same time.) I am trying to add emphasis on the chorus by having all instruments reduce in volume all the way till they are inaudible to the human ear, but then I want it back to 0.0 or the same original volume when the chorus comes in. Is there a way to do this for all of the tracks? My problem was not knowing how to cleanly pump it back to 0.0. I was using automation, pulling the fader down, and then up. The problem with that is some would go over 0.0, and tracks go come up at different speeds. I am sorry if this was posted, I'm stumped. Thank you so much for your time and this resource forum.
  14. Wow Mike Robinson, what a thorough and eye opening response. I didn't know about a lot of that. Very helpful. Are any of you able to listen to -8db without ear fatigue? I'm wondering if it was the recording frequencies that are messing with me or me being on the spectrum or what. Thanks for your guys' time.
