  1. Not really a bug, but in case someone is failing to find them... Browsing through the Sampler world instrument presets I've found the Spanish Flamenco Guitar is placed under South American. It should be under European. On the other hand, the Tango Accordion is under European and should be under South American. But I admit I'm not too sure what exact instrument they're referring to with that name (a Bandoneon?), and I'm not familiar with its sound or origin.
  2. When inserting an External Instrument and selecting the corresponding audio inputs, the tuner icon in the control bar at the top remains greyed out. The quickest way I've found to make it active is to simply select an adjacent track and back by pushing the up/down arrow keys.
  3. See if this helps: Preferences > Recording > Cycle on: Audio - Create Tracks and Mute. Once you're done recording, select all the regions and unmute them by pressing Ctrl+M.
  4. The Single and Multi options for the Trigger switch don't seem to work for the random waveform. They work as expected for the triangle, sine and square, ie. the cycle is reset on Note On. You could argue that, technically, since it's random there's no default value to reset to, but I'm going by how every other random LFO works out there. It samples a new value at every trigger.
  5. Thanks David. At least there's nothing wrong with my system.
  6. I've searched for "graphic bug" on the forum and there's plenty of them, but haven't found this one. It doesn't bother me. I'd just like to know if it's only my system config (see signature) or it can be reproduced in other systems. And leave it here for the record. In the video I'm just hovering the pointer, not clicking anywhere. It does work fine once you click.
  7. The Step Sequencer still misbehaves. It won't move for the first bar each time you press play.
  8. I had the V Collection before getting Logic. I personally like fooling myself having a make-believe software version of a synth I know but can't afford. To the point I hardly ever use the Advanced panel with the extra features added by Arturia, and keep it as faithful as possible to the real thing. So as good as Logic's synths may sound, they don't fill that particular gap for me. Having said that, in the case of electric pianos and organs I do prefer the sound of Logic's offerings. For beginners, getting the full collection in one chock-full can be a little overwhelming. I've had guys asking things like "which one do I use for bass?". Like they're not aware any one of those synths was all you could afford back in the day and learned them inside and out to squeeze every possible sound out of them. I always give them the same advice: make a full song for each one of them, using just the one per song to get all the sounds, and soon you'll get a feel for their particular strengths and weaknesses + it's a good exercise to get to know them.
  9. If it's of any consolation, I've had permanent tinnitus on both ears since 2003 and can't hear anything above 4 Khz on my left ear (I can listen to The Beatles in mono and still hear the Hi-Hat on the right...). I agree with the suggestions above. My doctor gave me good advice on the subject (mostly headphone related). Do not stop making music.
  10. Preferences -> Automation -> Pencil Tool -> Hold Option For Stepped Editing Also, from the Snap menu you have a few options for automation snapping.
  11. - Flatten flexed/processed audio region in one keystroke. - Tabbed plug-in window (it's been already mentioned, but too much of a wish for me to omit). - MIDI input selector per channel strip. Either: - Send output to an unused bus without Logic creating an Aux Channel. For example by pressing Option while doing so. Or (better): - Show all existing channel strips in the project as channel strip input/output options (MIDI or Audio accordingly).
  12. Thanks Robert! I'd never heard of that site. I already managed to find a buyer locally and transfer my licence, but have opened an account for future use anyway. Looks like a good option.

    Big Sur?

Arturia V Collection 8, T-RackS 5, Amplitube 5 and Superior Drummer 3 all working flawlessly here.
  14. Thanks ValliSoftware for elaborating. A few good points there to consider. Still, seeing what Logic can and cannot do at this moment, and for my purposes, I think I'll stick to the old two-track way and just record the takes directly into an audio track. I'm getting no discernible latency that way. It would be great if Logic could tell the difference between having a software instrument or the external instrument utility in the track, and do bounce-in-place accordingly. There's a feature suggestion I guess.
  15. Hi, yes that's what I said above. I was expecting a real-time bounce, and instead Logic performs a pointless off-line bounce obviously resulting in silence. That's why I'm guessing the External Instrument utility is not meant to be used the way I intended to, ie. to bounce a single part so I can re-patch the synth for the next sound. Apparently it only bounces correctly (real-time) when bouncing a whole project. Other DAWs do recognise when there is an external instrument and won't even give you the option for an off-line bounce. That's why I was wondering.
