  1. So I'm trying to play live a left-hand boogie woogie pattern on my midi keyboard, I have a piano vst assigned to the keyboard in logic and I also want drums assigned so that, for example when playing the pattern in the chord of C I will be playing the notes C, C, E, C, G, C, A, G - the goal being that this will play as a piano pattern and at the same time a drum pattern (with C assigned to kick, E assigned to snare etc) so that I end up having a combined piano and drum pattern/accompaniment while I'm playing. And then I will do the same for the chords of F and G
  2. Thanks, so how do I then change the note mapping, like if I wanted snare on C1 instead of kick etc
  3. ok thanks, I'm pretty new to logic and this kind of stuff in general, would you have like a step by step of what I do to achieve it, or a few more pointers even. Many thanks
  4. Happy to use anything that will get me what I need, but the one I currently have loaded is the "Drum Kit Designer" in logic (the one with SoCal kit etc)
  5. Hi, I have a midi keyboard connected to Logic. I want to assign specific notes on the keyboard to specific logic drums (eg C3 to kick, F3 to snare etc). Can someone advise how I go about this. Many thanks
  6. I have multiple tracks in a logic project, with certain ones armed for recording at any one time. I want to Save As Copy at certain times when I have specific tracks armed (so that when I load it back up those specific tracks will still be armed). But when I Save As Copy and load it up at some point none of the tracks that were armed when I saved it are armed. This makes it super hard to save specific combos of armed tracks that I like, when I find good combos of instruments etc, so I can quickly save what I have and retrieve at any point.
  7. Hi, I use Logic 90% of the time with two keyboard controllers just playing live, only occasional recording. Each controller is assigned to multiple tracks/instruments which allows me to play like a live one-man band basically. This works great for about 2 tracks/instruments per controller but any more than that I get performance issues (missed notes, neverending notes, slowdowns etc). I have a 2021 M1 Mac (latest Monterey) with 16GB RAM + external SSD I use various combinations of VST's - Apple, EastWest, Kontakt, etc - any of these are fine on a few tracks combined but any more than that issues. I get similar performance limitations with Mainstage, but I prefer Logic anyway. I can't afford any higher specced computer so I was wondering how I would go about optimizing Logic for just playing live with multiple controllers/tracks instead of recording - what settings can I change in Logic or even the Mac itself, or anything else I can do? Thanks!
  8. A while back it used to be the case when I left logic pro running on my mac and came back to it after a day it sometimes developed this weird echo/repeat sound - it applied to all tracks/instruments, basically when I played a note it would echo/repeat. It was like a bug in the plugins or logic itself and the only way I could get it back to normal was to quit logic and go back in. My guess was it had something to do with a bug in the reverbs I had set on the master, which at the time would've been either chromaverb or eastwest spaces 2, but I've never been able to replicate it and I'd like to be able to as it gave a really cool vibe when playing. I managed to save a snippet of the sound here: Assuming nobody knows why exactly this would happen but does anybody know what plugins I can use that would give a similar effect - ie playing a note on a controller and it kind of repeats/echoes. Thanks!
  9. In Logic and Mainstage I play two keyboard controllers live (no recording) which play different tracks/instruments. I want to be able to instantly transpose to another key while playing (eg via an expression pedal assigned to two keys when pressed maybe? Or something similar, so the key changes in what I'm playing without having to pause what I'm playing). Thanks
  10. Hi, I'm fairly new to all this, I'm using Logic and I can see how to use the loop browser to drag drum loops into my project, but it seems to be quite limited for the types of drum loops you get - I'm looking for a wider variety like jazz drums, slow shuffles etc. Where would I get these and can I just add them into the apple drum loops like the existing ones? Basically I just want to have lots of predefined drum sequences that I can just drag into my project to jam along to covering lots of different genres etc. Thanks
  11. Thanks! My apologies I am new to Logic and DAW's in general, would you be able to break down a bit what you said - eg what exactly do I do in steps
  12. Hi, I have multiple tracks and I have a reverb plugin on the Stereo Out. I don't want one of my tracks to be affected by the reverb. I don't want to have to add the reverb to all the tracks except 1 as I want to be able to change the reverb to different things and for it to affect all the tracks (except for 1). Can I exclude the one track from the Stereo Out reverb plugin somehow? Thanks
