  1. Hi - The culprits are these : auval auvaltool in side /usr/bin I replace those new ones with the ones from the first beta... that works. 100%. You need to boot from another drive and so replace the those two files as OS X will NOT let you delete those EVEN when in SUDO mode in Terminal... Good Luck...
  2. Hi, I want to be able to write midi automation etc and control several midi channel within VIs capable of multiple midi channels. Like MF2 and Kontakt I already know how to create a Vir Instr. with multiple channels. There I get 16 channels which ALL move when doing volume automation on either. This is absurd. If i.e. I hook up a Korg M3 I can address that with 16 midi channels and WRITE independent midi automation to EACH of the 16 midi tracks, without going into the M3 and physically setting the volume on it. It seems in Logic that if I have 16 midi tracks going into Kontakt I have to open the VI (K4) and the set the volume in there. If I alter midi channel 01 in the arrange window ALL channels are being altered.... Am I crazy or is this just another and another and another Logic GLITCH... Please tell me that I am the DUMB one ;-0))))))
  3. Only PROBLEM with this setup is that ALL VIs in record mode are being CALCULATED on ONE processor and NOT 8. Additionally, try this. 1) Enable 2 VIs to play drums from an external sequencer like the MPC. Set the Buffer in Logic to 32 or 64 samples. Play back and listen. 2) Now, with the same setup, up the buffer to 1024 or 2048. Listen to that and take note of how the timing changes to something which is impossible to listen to. Using Logic as a host for VIs on a separate CPU is not good beyond a buffer of 32. Not because of latency but because Logic is 1) Altering the incoming midi timing based upon the set buffer 2) Logic wont distribute the CPU load to multiple processors while in this mode. Only way to get a good timing is to use the stand alone versions of the VIs and leave Logic out of it. The stand alone versions WILL distribute to multiple cores very nicely and they WILL NOT alter their incoming midi timing regardless of buffer size
  4. Actually - the more I mess around with Space Designer - the more is just love it. Loading is really easy in SD and as you say it is really CPU friendly. When I work in Logic, SD is all the Convolution Reverb I need. Funny that so many be inclined to thinking that it is not as good as the 3rd pty. convolution plugs. (I used to think so too ) Anyway - the more I mess around with this library the more I fall in love with it
  5. Hi there, Today was Lexicon day in my life. I have just bought the Lexicon 300 IRs from acousticas. (I wrote a post about their EMT245 IRs as well - a while ago) I have been using IR plugs since the day the dawned upon us. I was always crazy for the lexicon sound. So whenever someone posted a release I would go n get it and then in the end, wind up not using it - as they sound was bad. It was with mixed feelings that I clicked the "buynow" button on their website. Surely, their demos sounded cool but you never know how they make those. Anyway - I have been playing around with this library the whole day and I am simply dazzled by the sound. No matter what I do - I cannot seem to make it sound "bad" - the sound is simply so warm and putting my instruments right in that mix. Now - I am a mostly a protools user but I use Logic for composition every day. After having installed the Lexicon IRs I found out that I can use the library directly from the Space Designer load menu without having to import the IRs one by one. That is a real time saver. Anyway - the presets are well organized and very easy to figure out. The Reverb decays are ranging from 100 milliseconds to 64 seconds. The longer tails are sounding awesome. You can check demos on their site http://www.acousticas.net
  6. Hva så Holger, I only got 69% - Now I KNOW that I aint NO producer... But I always considered my ass a composer anyway
  7. Hi david, since I own a real EMT I have ALWAYS been on the lookout for impulses which are at least 90% up to snuff when compared to the real deal. Until the Acousticas library (which is more like 99%) I always wondered if a real EMT was actually sampled or if the folks who did it merely used the name. BTW - IMO, the EMT 245 is one of THE greatest reverbs ever built. A long with the Lexicon 300 and 480. I own both of them as well. Acousticas are planning to sample the L300 (according to their website) but ALL lexicon IRs of today have NOT been sounding ANYTHING near the real deal. If they achieve a result as they did with the EMT245 with the L300 then I am going to be a VERY happy man.... Time will tell - until then the EMT lib is filling up my IR reverbs
  8. Hi David, yup that is me. Logic DOES have a mod delay. Go to> Plug-ins>Modulation>ModulationDelay. It is working fine with the presets supplied. I DID find other EMTs out there. But they dont sound very good IMO... Anyway - nice looking forum you have here
  9. Hi Everybody, I am seriously into Convolution Reverbs - Like Space Designer, IR-1 and the rest of the Bunch. I am ALWAYS looking for GREAT Impulse Responses so I thought that I'd go on a venture to find out something new. That is why I am starting this thread - so that we can ALL share our findings and exchange suggestion on Impulse Responses. I have always been using the stock libraries from the convolution plug-in vendors but a few weeks ago I received a recommendations from a friend suggesting I try some new impulses. So I did. The company is called Acousticas and the library I got was an EMT 245 emulation. I was pretty thrilled with this as I am also an EMT 245 hardware owner. At first I thought, well, nothing is going to beat my real EMT but as I sat down and compared the library my real EMT I was filled with AWE. Simply cause I was not able to tell the difference. It sounds amazing. This was a real timer saver for me as I always had to print my EMT 245 hardware if I wanted to use various settings - now I can just load up multiple instances of Space Designer. The library is compatible most reverbs, as far as I can tell. Space Designer, IR-1 etc. They have even made a special version for Native Instrument's Kontakt. To use with it's convolution reverb. They also offer other libraries. You can check out their website here http://www.acousticas.net So - this was my recommendation for now - I would be very happy if this thread would turn into a cool recommendation thread for Impulse Responses
  10. Hi - Cool to hear:-) Ask the guy when they are finally going to implement a PRO disk allocation systems in order for people who record @96K or 192K with digi HD TDM to specify on which hard drive to record!!! As of now one can only specifiy for a group of tracks 1-32 and 33-64....This is a bugger when recording at 192K. @192K a firewire Hard Drive is only able to stream 8 Tracks:-)))) NJOY Your meeting with se german:-) 25G'S
  11. I on the other hand have to defrag and do it once a week. If I dont I can forget about runnin' large sessions. Secondly it prolongs the life of your hard drive if you defrag regularly. I defrag my audio drives once a week - the system drive once a monthor less!!!! Depends on what I install and save.... i use TechTools Pro 4 from Micromat and it works superb!!! However, I strongly recommend to read the manual b4 doing any experimentational stuff:-) 25G's I use - G5 Dual 2.3GHZ - Digi HD3 - Apogee IF's
  12. Use this link:http://www.emagic.de/support/download/index.php?lang=EN this is the midi driver for Logic... I had to install it to use my interface(Unitor) Should you have another HardWare IF use the designated driver from the Manuf.
