  1. whenever I've employed Automation on an Omnisphere track I've never used Latch Write or Touch in Logic to get the job done.. I Enable Host Automation on the Omni Parameter I want to automate as described previously.. then in Logic I go to the Omni track.. open up the Automation view (KS =A).. go to the drop down automation menu and scroll to Omnisphere.. and in that selection there will be 255 numbered options to display.. usually somewhere near the top of the list will be the parameter I just enabled for automation.. so I display that and use Read automation.. maybe all this time I've been doing it wrong but it seems to work just fine.
  2. almost 4 years later Jake.. still love my Omni and Logic too.. haha!
  3. am I the only one that feels like the time is very ripe for Logic Pro 10?
  4. I'm not sure how you're using Hyper Editor regarding midi note pitch.. typically I'll manipulate midi note pitches in Piano Roll.. if I need to modify midi note parameters (Modulation - Pitch Bend - etc) I can select those notes in PR and then head over to HE and create a Hyper Set from those selected notes.. I can re-order those parameters (vertically) however I like by click+drag.. but I don't think I've used HE for setting midi note pitches.. can you explain a little more?
  5. very cool Damon!! re: Thunderbolt connectivity.. I would not be surprised to see Lynx come up with an add-on Thunderbolt L-slot interface to be used in the Aurora series converters.
  6. for about $6.5K should be very awesome! color me envious! just curious: this may sound strange but that kinda puts the Duet 2 in the "weak link" category.. any plans?
  7. simple and functional.. thanks as always @David
  8. I have a good MH audio interface that has some pretty decent mic preamps and converters.. and I use a Behringer condenser mic (B2 Pro).. I've always been able to print a pretty good vocal track.. but always felt it needed a bit more color and bite.. so until I can afford my ideal front end setup I've recently found a decent substitute to give me what I'm looking for.. sorta.. I lay down the vocals as usual.. but afterwards I just throw the GAP with the "01 Clean > Direct Box" setting into the first insert slot on my vocal track and tweak the Gain and EQs a little.. works great to give me just that little extra edge to my vocal sound after I've laid down the track.. I know I know this may seem pretty lame to many of you that have a great front end setup going into Logic.. and compared to having a great preamp and compressor it's not in the same class.. but for a low budget situation it works for me.. of course this isn't the first time anyone used a guitar amp sim for vocals.. but I'd never heard of anyone using the GAP Clean Direct Box setting in this way.. let me know what you think.. Cheers.. Bobby Lane
  9. that's been my plan too.. but the $$ factor is a big road bump.
  10. thanks @triplets.. @David.. & @redlogic.. had not thought of using the line inputs.. makes obvious sense!
  11. these audio interface and preamp questions seem endless I know.. but.. 1. you've got a nice mic (like MA-200). 2. you've got a nice audio interface w/really good pre's and converters (like RME or Apogee). 3. you're getting decent results but want to add a great free standing pre (like Vintech X73). 4. will this result in pre-overkill? or will it turn out well with excellent results? 5. would it be wiser to go from free standing pre into a non-pre audio interface? 6. if so.. any non-pre audio interface recommendations you'd care to share? thanks for considering a few more questions on a common subject. Cheers.. Bobby trebor99
  12. whenever I replace my current interface I plan on taking a hard look at the Mbox Pro http://www.avid.com/US/products/Mbox-Pro
  13. I just select my automation region.. then Click + Option.. and drag it to where it needs to be.
