  1. No luck. I added the line "2021 @ Company Name." as a comment. I know we are not talking about big things like digital rights etc but isn't packaging metadata not so important?
  2. This is a great insight to begin with. Usually the copyright I add is in "2019, XYZ Inc. All rights reserved." format for that field. I will also play around the format if it gets through somehow and post the results when I open Logic next time.
  3. This is very problematic. There is a column/tag for Copyright while bouncing a Logic project as an M3 but that is not visible in info tab of the file, in any player, or the so called MP3 tag explorers. I am surprised. Well, I know this is not a true copyright but it is good to have line in there when you are sending audio files. Anyone?
  4. Good point. I understand/accept. I just want the tag to be visible in the e-mail I sent out with the MP3 files as the "basic" firt step. Does anyone know why Logic Pro MP3 export tag for Copyright not visible in details. I opened the file in several players and tag explorers as indicated.
  5. I am adding tags while exporting an MP3 in Logic, such as album name, artist name, composer, tempo/bpm and "copyright". In the exported files, when I view the details, I do not see the copyright label though. Am I missing anything obvious? I have seen in Macbook, Windows, VLC Media layer info tab, MP3Tag.de utility and so on... all tags are visible except for copyright and that scares me as I have sent out the files. I do no want a copyright registration but wanted to add a simple line during export as a basic step. Any advice?
  6. does it sound good in monitors as well? otherwise, i'd say, if it works for you, go for it. Yes. Though its originality is lost, it does create a wider space when direction mixer is stretched out fully. It is only a background pad and in fact that way it is not intruding into core melody. Thank you.
  7. Can you post a link to the video, with a timing within the video where they share that information? Stereo out is decreased in volume to negative down and raised to zero with a curve pointing to where the audio starts -
  8. In the context of mastering a mixed down track, I have seen a few youtube videos that ask us to pull down volume in the automation list to a "negative full" and bring it back to 0db at the point where the track starts. Why is it needed if the track has a lead silence time for 1-2 seconds (and in the end)? They seem to call it as "trimming". What am I missing?
  9. Is there some short and practical explanation of General MIDI and its mapping to Logic Pro X? I did not find any chapter dedicated for it in the books that are available, perhaps one of you know a source better than vanilla Google! I am intrigued by LSB, MSB, and how some .mid files pass instruments, expressions, etc., when imported into a Logic project. All I have used is the CC for sustain on keyboards that do not have a physical pedal. No idea about what else is there in the midi world for logic pro. David, would you consider writing a dedicated chapter on MIDI and Logic relationship in the next version of your book? @David Nahmani
  10. Far left means it's out of phase, which you don't want at all. Mix in stereo and don't worry about it. OK. Thank you. But now I found a new Pad VST that sounds equally good in left and right headphones and having the Direction Mixer at 200% creates lesser volume and wider ambience. Is it wrong to use the direction mixer on just the background pad track?
  11. Is it so? There is no video and I am delivering stereo MP3. How does portrait or landscape mode effect normal audio files?
  12. I was under the assumption that when we play a song on a smartphone (without headphones), though there is only one visible speaker, both left/right will merge and play from it. I have two android phones Xiaomi redmi note 7 pro, and a Samsung M32. I wanted to test and found this link ( ) that emits a different sound based on mono/stereo. I realized that both the phones'speakers are mono. How is it that most music plays well even when played from mobile inbuilt speaker? I remember hearing even panned sounds well by default. I used a direction mixer for pads in my new song. The correlation meter shows far left meaning its not mono. But I love direction mixer. How to have the width and still be compatible with mono speakers? I did not post this in Logic Pro forum as I felt it a generic production question.
  13. Yes. Just checked. They are indeed stereo. One guitar VST and one of the pads is sending relatively more signal to the right.
