  1. Dear Logic Pro Forum users my name is W1D3Y8W0Y, Looking for some feedback on my music All the love in the world P0VT3R
  2. one more vid with me doing my vocal part badly live *cry with laughter emoji* so you can see what I mean about using it in a live application (hopefully) https://www.instagram.com/tv/Cbu9lH0jIbx/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link
  3. Hi Davidstar, how are you? I'm looking to get my singer to control the low cut frequency on the guitar and the high cut frequency on the drums during our live performance For instance when a verse comes up she can press the two A buttons and sweep the frequencies for a thinner sound, bring her vocal to the fore, then drop it back in like a DJ when the next part of the song comes up, should be great fun I hope here is an example of me sweeping our drums and guitar, I didn't sing my vocals over the top, but you get the idea, feel pretty jubilant right now here's the vid... https://www.instagram.com/tv/Cbu5aS0D8dd/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link
  4. weirdly enough it didn't like there being two EQ's on one channel strip, once I had only one EQ on each channel strip that seemed to get things working, honestly it was such a palaver, if you're thinking of doing this yourself, a tip is to map the "roll" first, have only this ticked in osculator, set the controller assignments mode to "scaled" for a nice balanced sweep, don't forget to turn off the learn mode, untick roll, tick "button A" map this to the cut button, set the controller assignments mode to "direct", get that working, honestly please don't forget to turn the learn mode off after each new setting or otherwise you'll have to start again from scratch, I did this about a thousand times *cry with laughter emoji*, um yep, tick "roll" and "button A" if you want to try it out, pretty snazzy, oh if you have button A set to direct mode, the cut will come in when the A button is held down and will release when you let go of it, quite handy I thought, better than a toggle. Forgot to mention, in osculator you want both set to "midi CC" message... repeat the whole process for a second Wii mote, if you want to be able to filter sweep two things at once like me, bobs your bloody uncle, phew! HTH, can't wait to use it live in rehearsals x
  5. managed to figure it out, it couldn't have been any more user unfriendly to do, stayed up til 4am! *cry with laughter emoji* the only thing I'm worried about now is that the Wii motes are on midi channels 1&2 now I haven't plugged in my drummers electro kit yet and I'm very sure it's going to want to use channel 1, so I'm either going to have to remap the whole thing again, maybe another hour or so of busting my head against a brick wall, or figure out how to get the electro drums on channel 3 but phew! I did it! Trust me it was a proper ball ache https://www.instagram.com/p/CbtoQ8mjmg_/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link
  6. well I would like to upload a video of what I've tried but it doesn't seem I can, not sure I can detail it in pictures, anybody know what I'm on about?
  7. Hi all, I've managed to get a Wii mote connected to my MBP via bluetooth I've opened Osculator, which is recognised as a midi input by Logic I've unticked all the info it outputs so that it is only receiving "roll" information This is being acknowledged by logic in the midi information display in the control bar, when I rotate it right it goes up to 127, when I rotate it left it goes down to 0 Which is great, I just can't seem to get this information to the low cut frequency parameter using the control surfaces pane, I've tried pressing learn, rolling the Wii mote and it just doesn't seem to learn jack s#!+... not really sure what I'm doing wrong, maybe I can attach a video or something to show you what I've tried to no avail. Thanks in advance Lewis
  8. I'm wondering if maybe buying MainStage might help? I'd like to attach photos of my project but I'm not sure how to go about doing that...
  9. Hi peeps, I'm feeling a bit peeved, I can't actually test this out right now because I sold my audio interface and am upgrading soon... but I've made a project setup for our rehearsals and gigs, I've got buses dedicated to monitor wedges for when we rehearse, but I've just noticed that when I switch on "low latency mode" the bus sends on my sampler instrument turn orange, so I'm guessing these sends won't work, its find for audio tracks, but not the sampler instrument... Does this mean I won't be able to do this? Is there any way round this? We kind of need the sampler instrument loud for our drummer, but quieter for me and the singer, now I've realised I can't do this I feel like I'm kind of up s#!+ creek... My laptop used to run with no latency for the first couple of months I had it, but after a few marathon sessions where it's got quite hot, I've noticed I pretty much need to use low latency mode all the time when tracking guitar/midi drums/vox etc, or else my drummers samples are going to be lagging behind his stick hits, am I totally$&@+% now? I guess we could put the main output to one bus, get a mediocre mix that kind of works for all of us, and then duplicate that mix for the monitors, but again, this would mean probably having to buy a hardware mixing desk, and ones with 4 auxiliary outs don't really come cheap...well, probably more than my laptop cost me, which I could really do without right now... Anyone got any bright ideas how I can make our first rehearsal a success? It won't be for another month, but I'm feeling a bit dejected right now... if only I didn't have to use low latency mode, but my laptop just doesn't seem to be able to handle live stuff without it on thanks for your time Lewis
  10. ps haven't tried this with bus sends yet for monitor mixes, I'll have to take a closer look at this at my first band rehearsal in April, fingers crossed it won't be a blooming nightmare sorting out monitor mixes with low latency mode on... otherwise I'm going to have to buy a hardware mixing desk and just route all my tracks and instruments into that, anyone have experience with using track to bus sends in low latency mode?
  11. I've noticed that when using low latency mode for tracking recordings or even live rehearsals, I'll get massive spikes up and down in volume. I've noticed that anything on the master stereo out bus will be disabled, so if you're using a gain utility to lower the volume, which I commonly do, it will be bypassed and the volume will spike up I've noticed that bus faders will be overridden putting them back at zero dB, even though visually this isn't obvious, so unfortunately when using low latency mode you can't use these faders to manage your levels The only work around was to put all my buses at a flat 0dB, because I still need them for routing, but yea, annoying I can't utilise the fader... so I just have all my audio tracks and instrument tracks way way low, at around -20 to -25dB, then gradually bring up what's needed for tracking, or live band rehearsals etc... this has been a big headache for me for about a week now, glad it's finally solved HTH Lewstar
  12. Forgive my ineptitude good sir, I hope you get to the bottom of it
  13. I was having problems but changed processor threads from "Automatic" to "4" and my life just got a lot easier *cry with laughter emoji*
  14. Hi guys, I'm not sure if this will help any of you, but I was having really annoying problems I was getting latency with my audio, system overloads etc at 128 buffer size, I tried switching on low latency mode, this helped a bit but messed with the levels of the tracks a lot, boosting them to deafening levels (not good when you're tracking a drummer with sensitive ears) making other levels downright silent. I tried freezing tracks etc. Which again annoyingly messed with my levels, and I was unable to put a gain utility on the now frozen track, so I'd have to boost the level, freeze it again, so it would freeze at a decent enough level, messed around with having all my faders super low so when it came time to balancing after freezing things and using low latency (both proper ball aches with levels) I could still get some semblance of a workable mix for my drummer...What can I say, all of this was a huge headache but now it's solved I noticed that Logic was only really using one of my cores and this was maxing out just playing the project back, even with low latency and frozen tracks I noticed it was on "Automatic" for processor threads, as I say, it totally hogged one processor and was barely using the other three Switched it from "Automatic" to "4" and bobs your uncle track playback with no overloads, no need to freeze tracks and no need for low latency mode, when using all four processors finally it was only using about 25% of each instead of nearly 100% of one of them. Thought automatic mode would be the best, but obviously not. This has solved everything. No denying this is quite a small project I'm using with only 2 virtual instruments and about 8 audio tracks with a small spattering of plug-ins, one chroma verb, a handful of EQ's, plus a couple of trackspacers, so yea, there's a possibility I might need to freeze tracks and use low latency if I were doing a much bigger project, but fortunately I'm all good for this project now, phew! Here was me thinking I'd not purchased a beefy enough laptop and crying in to my hanky but now its solved Hope this might prove useful to someone else perhaps having the same problem as me, to re-iterate, change from "automatic" processing threads, to the maximum you have, jobs a good un. HTH Lewstar
  15. when low latency mode is on the record enabled track is boosted by about 24db, there are no plug-ins on the track, nothing in the signal chain to make this happen, don't know what's going on...
