  1. I agree. I understand them not supporting the betas. And I would also be open to the dev saying they are working but not ready on day one. But the ones who do ship on day one, or week one are always higher on my list.
  2. Yes, I meant no offense, just trying to clear up what I had read on the blog.
  3. Actually, he mentions that you can validate his plugs in something other DAW than Logic on first open (he recommends Reaper as a free demo) and then they will work in Logic. It seems to be an initial authorization bug, not that the plugs themselves won’t work.
  4. Let's not forget that Apple didn't release any public betas until Yosemite in 2014, the 11th release of MacOS X. I can certainly understand a devs stance on not releasing betas to the public. I have served as beta tester for many software companies, and very few of them have public betas - you need to apply and agree to T&C and NDAs and so on. And with a company such as Rogue Amoeba, they are usually ready on day one, so it doesn't really matter much. Even MOTU has gotten. better at releasing updates close to the official OS release date. I switched to Logic back in the day, because no one was sure MOTU would port DP to OS-X. This is before Apple bought E-Magic and there were rumors they may buy MOTU. It took quite a while as I remember for DP to run on OSX. Of course, the OS is now more stable, and it isn't such a big change as it was going from OS9 to OSX.
  5. I have no doubt Rogue Amoeba will support Ventura with all thier products. And I believe they more often than not, have updates available on day one of the new OS shipping. I am sure they have thier own internal beta testers.
  6. @fisherking, Do you work with notation at all? I’ve been doing a lot more in Dorico than Logic these past many months. Just curious if you’ve tried that. (I can’t recall, but I seem to remember you not using notation software outside of Logic) cheers kc
  7. @fisherking - I knew you would be on the beta!! thanks for your reports over the years. I am nearly jumping on the FisherKing bandwagon and diving into Ventura. Most of my mission critical work is behind me for awhile, so I believe I am safe. The one piece of software I use somewhat regularly, (though not a deal breaker) that seems to not work yet is Audio Hijack. But I am looking for a bit more spice in my life, so maybe I'll take the leap.
  8. I’m pretty sure mine shipped without a fan.
  9. M1 Pro or M1 Max ? Sorry, this is the M1 Pro. But as des99 said above, I don't think the Max will do much better in audio. But I am certainly happy with these results so far. the only reason I abandoned my MP was software compatibility issues. I was running up against software requiring an OS I couldn't run. But I rarely brought my MP to it's knees with my audio work. Once and a while I would freeze tracks, but not very often .
  10. My New MBP 16" 16/1TB running this test with 128 samples in Threads in Auto=157. Running with threads at 10=186
  11. Huh. I missed it I guess. Or forgot. Wonder why Logic Pro is 10.6 rather than 11. Opps, don’t mean to start up again. Thanks
  12. Wait, is Big Sur actually called MacOS 11? Did I miss that?
  13. uh. what? as far as stability, it's always a risk when moving forward. but 10.6 on catalina here has been running beautifully, stable (as was logic 10.5 etc). and apple does what it either needs to do or chooses to do, in terms of backwards compatibility. anyway, i think you're taking this way too personally; tech moves forward, things change... and life goes on. But, Mojave has been a lot less reliable on my system than High Sierra.
  14. It is what it is, or course. And Apple doesn't listen very well to its users. What gets me is the timing of it all. They should have held off on 10.5. Not give us an update that works on Mojave and 6 months later do a mostly bug fix update that locks us out. OK - I done complaining. btw - I really like Reaper and am starting to use it more and more.
  15. Hey Des - I think we both see eye to eye on many things. And maybe I'm not communicating my thoughts well but I'm closely getting into Beating a Dead Horse territory, so I'll leave it at that. Cheers!
