  1. Hi I have looked down in the archives and found version that will open in Logic, so I will not be needing your services. Thanks for answering so quick! Musicmind/Stigc56
  2. Hi Can anyone here help me with opening an old Logic 4 song? It's filename is SayGodmorning.lso I tried to open it in Logic 10.8.1 and got this message:
  3. Hi I can create a link to a DB file: https://www.dropbox.com/s/sgfcvk79vaichf5/Rosalie.logicx?dl=0
  4. Hi Well I use Smart Tempo from the editor and here it's easy to set the signature, which is important if I want to align down beats correctly. Here you can see the 4/4 signature. But I have serious problems to align the beginning of the MIDI part with bar 1. It's easy in the piano roll, selecting all and move them to 1,1,1,1. Then I open the ST Editor and select Analyze and boom everything just doesn't fit: Here is my procedure: I start by recording the performance. Moving the start of the performance to bar 1. Then I open the Smart Tempo and press Analyze and now the part is moved to the left, also in the Piano Roll! Take a look at this video: https://www.dropbox.com/s/fyclrz4wtbhsb50/Smart Tempo issue in Logic Pro.mp4?dl=0 Thanks a lot!
  5. Hi Back with Logic for another test: Smart Tempo. I have recorded a piece for piano on my keyboard and now I need to tell Logic how to set tempo and time signature. First I launch Piano Roll and from that the Smart Tempo. But the MIDI-part is not shown fully! Only 4 bars! Then I have to select another MIDI part and open that in the Piano Roll and in the Smart Tempo, AND then go back to the originalle and try again. I need to know: Is this function buggy? Is there a best practise, to make it work I mean. I'm on 10.7.8 by the way. Thanks
  6. Thanks a lot. I went with another VI, because of a tight deadline.
  7. Hi In the Basses+ instrument for the "new" Sampler in Logic, I can see 10 groups with different names: But how can I switch between the different groups, if I want to play pizz? Is there a key switch?
  8. Exactly! I will try to set the SMPTE position to 01:00:00:00 at bar 137, that will be a help. Thanks
  9. Hi I need to adjust the tempo of a section of an arrangement from bar 137 - 169 to last precisely 1 minute. I use the Enable Separate SMPTE View Offset in the synchronization settings in Project: In Tempo operations I can select the Scale Existing Tempo Changes function but the read-out is still the original time: ... and then it's not to much use! Can I change that somehow?
  10. Hi When I select "Select All Inside Locators" and need to copy that to another place in my arrangement, the VCA automation data is not copied along. Can this be changed somewhere? Regard Stig Christensen MUSICMIND
  11. Hi Every now and then I return to Logic because I want the simple life! In my set-up I use two servers running VEPro 7, a Mac and a PC. My question to you is: Do anyone of you, that use this kind of set-up, go for a " 1 instrument=1 instance" kind of set-up in VEPro 7? When I am on Cubendo, I collect all my Strings, Brass and Woodwinds in their own instance in VEPro 7, but the routing fort and back makes me insane. Setting up big libraries like Berlin Brass or Woodwind, with all those Kontakt instances, the routing of MIDI and audio!. I have so many libraries, but often I only use one string section, one woodwind section and one brass section in my arrangements, so I will hardly go over 60 VI in a project. Do you think a template i LPX with disabled tracks and the " 1 instrument=1 instance" approach to VEPro 7 would be a good solution? I just like the idea that every track holds an instrument that returns on a fader, and that's it. Any help much appreciated! Stig Christensen MUSICMIND
  12. Hi I have been using Cubase for a long time. In Cubase there is a "listen" function, it works like this: Activating Listen on a channel will dampen ALL the other channels, making it super easy to record and hear an instrument which is very soft. Is there an easy way to achieve this in Logic? The "Independent monitoring level for record-enabled channel strips" doesn't seem to work for virtual instruments. Is there an elegant solution?
  13. Well every time I need to do something extra to accomplish what I want, it feels like a limitation. I create backing tracks for musicals for a living, and have been doing it for 5 years now. Some sections in a track MUST start right on the beat, because otherwise the playback engine we use for live performance will not play it right. So in Cubase I play the part hit Q once - using iterative quantize, that moves the "wrong" notes towards the grid with an amount related to how much "off" they are. So every time I hit Q, the track will move more towards the "right" position. If I need Cubase to place the MIDI exactly on the spot for the start of a section I just use hard quantize. That's why I'm asking. I'm always on my way back to Logic, not because Cubase can't do the things I need, but because it sometimes involves far too many steps.
  14. Yes I know that. The SmartQuantize feature is very good, and it's one of many features in Logic, that from time to time make me leave Cubase and give Logic a try again. But it is kind of limiting the use, if I'm not allowed to hard Q 1 single event if I need this. I would have to create a separat part with just this one event to be able to hard Q it, right?
