  1. http://burn-studios.com/track/frayed/sasha_cut_me_down_frayed_remix Press play on the above link, I did put a lot of work into this track and was kinda happy with the outcome. Would love to hear any thoughts Also if you like my stuff, feel free to check my soundcloud at: Cheers!
  2. so I moved my EXs24's to the user folder/app support/logic/sampler instruments and they are ok. Strange how Logic 9 wouldn't read them from my other drive as Logic 7 and 8 never had a problem. Oh well guess I'll try and work like this now ! would be interested to hear if anyone else experienced this at all.... ?
  3. it's under the Forums menu at the top
  4. Heya I'm getting this error when trying to load any of my EXS24 instruments which I've made or bought over the last few years. The weird thing is they open fine here when I load Logic 8. I have all my EXS24 instruments stored on a separate drive in the Mac Pro. I copy a selection of the instruments over to the desktop of the main system and try to open them from there. Some seem to work ok and others not at all. It's quite strange! I've tried repairing permissions on all drives, and no problems found, I tried resetting the permissions on the EXS24 folder through the Get Info menu and no luck. It's like Logic 9.1.1 just cant figure out where the WAV files that make up the EXS24s are. But Logic 8 can... I've searched around but no one with the same problem, so just thought I'd see if anyone were able to help... please let me know if there is any further information I can provide... thanks in advance!! Logic 9.1.1 32 bit mode Leopard 10.5.8 Mac Pro Dual Core Zeon 2.66 (2007) 9GB RAM
  5. Hi Guys, I was watching a video of someone editing / programming midi events in another DAW application and they demonstrated a diagonal scissors tool that could cut though notes/events on the piano roll to achieve some great effects. I've tried to replicate this in Logic but can't seem to find an easy way. I've had a look at the transform window but it doesn't seem to have the same functionality. Has any one ever tried something like this? cheers! _n_ here is the link:
  6. check the Apogee Ensemble or maybe the Focusrite Saphire 56
  7. any TDM users out there who can comment on any fixes for TDM under 9.0.2 ? cheers!
  8. I believe the control panel inside Logic only works for the Ensemble and Duet (and maybe the new interface 'One'). If you're using the Rosetta or AD16x/DA16x converters then you just use the normal Maestro program. With the Ensemble and Duet you have the ability to control pre amp levels and some other parameters but none of these options apply to the high end converters in Symphony. Hope that helps! cheers.
  9. why not try placing your bounced track along with your comparison track into a blank project and use the level meter to monitor the Peak / RMS levels of each file to see if you can see any obvious differences ?
  10. if you are using the analog audio outs on the fantom x6 - then the duet would need to be set to *line* input (probably +4 rather than -10). Instrument input is only for electric guitars.

    ESX24

you could try and make a duplicate of the track. Click on the track that contains the EXS24 instrument you have made, and then click Track, New With Duplicate setting. This will create a copy of the track on a new instrument, i.e. the first will be Inst1 and the 2nd will be Inst2 etc. If you look on the mixer you should also see 2 separate tracks. If you place midi regions on these tracks that contain notes then they should both play at the same time. Otherwise if you create everything manually, make sure on the 2nd EXS24 you have opened the Sampler Instrument you created and that it is selected in the EXS24 window (from the drop down menu just above the cutoff control).
  12. Hey Fader8, could you tell us what program you used to generate the frequency response curves in Logic here ? many thanks!
  13. I would check out the sE 2200a. Unlike lots of cheaper mics, sE don't use OEM parts, they are all designed in house and made to the same standards as mics that are much more expensive. I've got 2 x sE2200a's and they sound great on lots of different sources (especially my acoustic guitar and vocals) www.seelectronics.com
  14. ok if you are pluggin your electric guitar straight in to the duet, then you would select instrument for input 1 on the Duet menu inside logic, if you are recording a line level signal (e.g. an analog keyboard mono output) the you would select line level input (either +4 or -10) - if you're recording a mic then select XLR mic input (48V on for condenser mics). I suspect you have your IO Labels set to 'provided by driver' - goto Options - Audio - IO Labels and change it to Channel to make things simple (or rename them to how you want them to appear) cheers!
  15. heya, that's a strange one! Im a Duet user and not heard of that one before, I would suggest doing a factory reset of the duet (hold the encoder pot in for 15 secs until u hear a click) also I would try to isolate the problem, does it only happen on the Instrument input? does it happen on the mic / line inputs? also try it outside of logic, does the same problem happen in garage band? Apogee doesn't officially support the Aggregate driver (i asked them previously) due to it's unreliability. also there is a new software update for the Duet available from the Apogee site... good luck here
