  1. Hi Everyone, I have tried pretty much every incarnation possible to get the M-Audio AxiomPro 49 to work with Logic 10.2.4. I did have luck once with this youtube clip when I had Logic 10.2 but it hasn't worked since: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VoDh1l8DTlY What I would appreciate is the following: 1. Is there ANYONE using the AxiomPro 49 with Logic 10.2.4? If so, what OS are you using? I'm on 10.10.5, but I could update to el capitan if someone can confirm it works. 2. Has anyone had the Hypercontrol work? Is Hypercontrol and DirectLink the same thing? 3. Has anyone got the automapping with Logic to work with the AxiomPro 49 to work? It totally recognizes the AxiomPro 49 within Logic but none of the buttons work. I am completely at a loss. I would absolutely buy the Nektar Panorama P4 but there isn't one in my city to test the keys and I really like the keybed on the AxiomPro. But if no one here has had any success I'm going to sell it to someone who uses ProTools and switch to the Nektar. Thank you all for your time.
  2. I didn't realize that about the apps. Thank you for letting me know. I'll back up and then give it a go. Cheers
  3. Hi, My ipad had automatic refresh on in the background (an option I didn't even know existed), and the result is that my Logic Remote app will no longer work with my Logic X. I have worked very hard to get Logic 10.2.0 to work well with my AxiomPro49 keyboard controller and am very reluctant to update to Logic 10.2.1 in case all my assignments no longer work. Does anyone have the 1.2.3 that they can send me? I don't have it backed up on my itunes/cloud etc. I feel this is ok to ask since the app is free to download, but if it violates a forum rule, mea culpa. Alternatively, if someone can reassure me that 10.2.1 will maintain all the keyboard assignments I have manually put in with AxiomPro (as well as my half-respected HyperControl) then I will risk it and then try my best to turn off all automatic updates for the future. Thank you one and all for any help
  4. I updated using the Personality Update and now the modulation wheel doesn't work. Anyone experience this or know how to troubleshoot it?
  5. A couple of more details: the keyboard is an Axiom Pro, the transport doesn't work when I have the Midi cables plugged in to the external synth and the Axiom.
  6. I'm obtuse when it comes to the environment. I've managed to get my Axiom to play my external synth, and to send notes within Logic, but when I play the notes back within Logic it won't make the sounds on the external synth play. Yes, it's somewhere in the manual and I've tried for about an hour to make it work. Any help is vastly appreciated. Thanks.
  7. The biggest thing I noticed is that he's using sidechain compression on the main synth but on the offbeat. This is what creates a more satisfying ooomph with the bass grind sound at 5 seconds or so. Other than that, a snare roll that speeds up and increases in volume will create that buzz sound. You can totally make those sounds within Logic. Put up what you've created so we can compare the two.
  8. Speaking with a little bit of experience here, I would strongly suggest you follow the advice above and simply worry about recording good quality sounds. So, make sure you have decent monitors, a great soundcard/audio interface (with good preamps) and go for it. Worrying about levels to the degree you are is like trying to study meteorology in order to avoid getting wet when it's raining. Your main goal is to play; let someone else figure out the weather.
  9. Ok, after reading some of the previous threads, it looks like a super fast quad core is still a good idea. Are there differences in quality between the new ones and used ones of the last couple of years? Should I consider how much RAM to put in? Do people using their quad cores use 64 bit or 32 bit?
  10. My iMac died today (the hard drive has failed) and even if I get it fixed I still think I'm going to upgrade to a Mac Pro. How much better are the pricier versions? Is the single 4 core base Mac Pro still pretty smoking and future adaptable? Any other things I should consider? How much RAM is necessary? What kind of hard drive should be installed? Any help here is most appreciated. Thanks in advance.
  11. That totally worked. Thank you so much. Is this special to 9.1.1 or just a Logic bug in general? Again, muchos gracias!
  12. Hi, I have the standard ctrl + 1, ctrl + 2 for the screensets for higher than 10 but this is not working. Couple of specifics: I use a French keyboard instead of an English one I've tried changing the key command but this is not working. I think the problem is that it's not recognising the control key when I hit. Anyone notice this? Any workarounds? Thank you for your time.
  13. Ski: very cool of you to take the time to lay that out for me. I do like the idea of sorting them via different tools. I'd say there are some commands I use all the time, and others very rarely. Some I use all the time (mostly in score editor/piano roll) are – velocity tool – screenset to super zoom in – nudge left/right – switch tempo I'll try and set them up this weekend based on the idea of one key accessing very similar things ( ctrl etc.) Cheers
  14. Hi, I tried importing BT's key commands but I don't think they're compatible with Logic 9. It shows an error code when I put them in the import section. Anyone have a copy of key commands that they find to be very intuitive? Thanks for any help.
  15. I ended up going ahead with it. If I had known how awesome the setup would be, I would've bought a 40 inch television in the first place. At the time though, I really wasn't thinking about using a TV in conjunction with making music. I am LOVING using my TV as my viewing monitor for Logic. It's really freed me up in a lot of ways. I see myself upgrading to a larger TV in the relatively new future and just going on from there.
