Still at a loss as to why this is happening. It may be because my hard drive is too full. It's set up to sync with iCloud Drive and manage hard drive space dynamically. But I'm not f-ing around with this stuff like I have in the past. So much frustration and hours spent NOT making music. I ordered a new Mac mini next day free shipping. Boom My current computer is a 2015 MacBook Pro and it's been great. But I was looking to upgrade to a mini anyway.

Thank you David. Yes it is an audio file. If you mean Global Tempo Track in the arrange window, yes the tempo track is affecting the project. Audio files line up with grid and tempo track because I generated the tempo from the audio file in Smart Tempo. And in Smart Tempo window the file is perfectly in sync with the metronome all the way through the file. But whenever I restart playback in the arrange window, by pressing play or clicking anywhere in the timeline during playback, the metronome is in sync again but starts to get noticeably later and later after a few seconds. I am away from my studio now so I can’t do a screenshot until later. Thank you so much.

Hello all! I've recorded a drum track in logic and generated a tempo map from that, then apply Region Tempo to Project Tempo. When I listen to or edit the file in Smart Tempo window it's perfect. But when I play the file in the arrange window it's in sync but the metronome gets slower and after about 20-30 seconds it's so late it's like a doubling effect. The longer the file plays uninterrupted the later the metronome gets. But if I stop and start playback again it's perfectly in sync. No matter where I start playback in the song. I've done lots of research and tried resetting MIDI drivers, restarting audio interfaces, using built-audio, made a whole new project from scratch to test and still metronome drifts slower in arrange window, but perfectly in sync in the Smart Tempo window. I can't do any work, and spent five precious studio hours today doing trial and error. No luck. Any help out there? Thanks! --PB
