  1. Hey! Thanks for taking a moment to pop back and confirm this. I've not had a moment yet to look into the hard links thing as a possible solution for the Apple Loops. If and when I do get something sorted out, I'll be sure to came back on this thread.
  2. hmmmm... well - yeah maybe - I'd be curious to know! Anyway, for the time being I have moved the Apple Loops back to my system drive so everything can be tidy, even though I would rather not stream audio from the system drive ;-( I may look into the "hard link" thing again and try that for the Apple Loops sometime. Thank you for replying here on this 😉
  3. Well, for me it is only the Apple Loops that has this issue - installing other library content is fine.
  4. thanks for replying.. hmmmm..... weird.... did the new content installed include Apple Loops or just library stuff?
  5. Hi. I found this thread when investigating this topic in regard to Apple Loops re-location/re-linking to an external drive and symlinks etc. Something has changed in Monterey and the manual symlink method is not working for me either. New content overwrites the symlink and all is screwed. I managed to avoid some re-downloading etc for the actual library stuff, and just deal with the SLM not recognising that I have stuff installed, but for the Apple Loops there is no "in house" relocation option that I know of, so I went for the symlink method again, and it does not work on my setup. I'm wondering whether it needs to be a "hard link" instead - which I recall reading about a while back, but I'm not sure what the deal is with that...can't remember now. Quick moan: I've been on Logic for about 15 years now, and still Apple have never sorted out a proper library management system for the library and loops - it's pretty appalling I say. It's not that challenging to implement a standard "where are your Apple Loops" functionality within Logic?.....
  6. Hi. Thanks - sorry, I was typing my previous message when your reply must have come in!
  7. Hello again. OK - I found it - it is the same name as before - "com.apple.audiounits.cache". Must have missed it somehow, earlier - doh! So now I'm wondering what the purpose of the "componentregistrar" file is?! I've not come across this one before...
  8. Hello. I found this thread while trying to find out the location of the audio units cache in Mojave. Do you happen to know if this "component registrar" file is the new "com.apple.audiounits.cache" counterpart in Mojave? I don't see the previous cache file since installing Mojave? Thanks! Kev
  9. I have this going on, plus some extra voodoo - shown in this thread here: /viewtopic.php?f=1&t=131996&p=703121#p703121 This is the first mention of project corruption I've heard. If it is that, then I'm super curious of course, to discover what the root cause of such corruption could be. Could the OP expand a little about the nature of the project being worked on - maybe we could help each other find out a bit more about this super annoying problem?
  10. OK - so here I am again with this issue, but even more weird, as some of the affected regions are totally unconnected with the regions I'm moving/copying! See short video. No commentary as I had to shoot this one late at night, and had to be quiet Note that the regions on the other track that shift in position are NOT derived from the regions I'm copying - it's a totally separate audio file from a different source. This time I checked the anchors and they were not moved. I can find no explanation at all for this behaviour. Now in that project, I simply cannot work with these regions that I have already incorporated into the composition. Every time I move/copy, the other regions shift and I am in a loop "correcting" them afterwards, over and over. It only seemed to start happening half way through working on this project - I don;t know what triggers it, or if it's more random. Serious voodoo stuff. Check the short vid and see it in action! https://cp.sync.com/dl/77b5bae70#vzp2rb4d-rvyfzezq-y2wa55zj-9d6cqe22
  11. Weirdly, it seems to move the anchor to a "random" position, to the right??? I don't remember finding this out on the occasion that features in the video. However, today's situation does appear to have something to do with shifted anchor points.... I have not been back to the project to take a look at the copy paste option yet. Maybe tomorrow. Thanks for your input on this "lonely" thread ;-DD
  12. Thanks for the reply! I had never seen it either - very strange behaviour indeed. I'll have a look at the copy paste thing and see if it's the same result. Today it seemed as if there was some weird changing of the anchor points on the regions affected. I still haven't sussed out what the cause is though.
  13. I have this same thing going on again in Logic 10.4 suddenly - this topic doesn't seem to have much interest though - is it just me with this going on?
  14. Thanks Eric - yep - I should have mentioned that I have only tested this in the PR editor - cos it's the only MIDI editor I find myself using every day. I don;t know whether this will ever get fixed. I have been using your suggested workaround since your reply on the original thread - thanks!
  15. I'll test the new Logic algo reverb out for sure - but I'll be blown away if it sounds as good as or better than Relab LX480 and VSR S24. It always depends on what source it's being used on of course. I use different reverb plugins for differing sources. Looking forward to a head to head challenge....
