  1. Hey everyone, thanks so much for your replies so far and sorry for being late to respond! No, it wasn't up to date, I updated it accordingly. It is a M1 machine and I'm running Monterey 12.6.7 as by now. Rebooting didn't do anything. No other apps are running. It happens both in the pane version and the dedicated window. I attached it to this post. I deleted the audio files in the Media Folder, as the problem is only related to MIDI. The behaviour described above is still happening. MIDI DISAPPEARING (FORUM).zip
  2. Hey there, title says it all already. When I select a region, I see everything in the pianoroll as expected. As soon as I hit playback however, the notes disappear (playback continues as expected). I've seen a lot of suggestions to fiddle around with the link button but as this only disconnects the region information from the info displayed in the pianoroll, this is not a durable solution. I have several region automations on this track and if I disable all of them, everything behaves as it should. As soon as I enable one of the automation lanes, the notes start to disappear again. I suspected there is something going on with controller assignments referring to the same midi cc so I deleted all my controller assignments, but it still happens. This completely destroys my workflow so I'd be very grateful for any ideas! Edit: This not only happens on the track containing the automation data but on every single midi track in my project.
  3. Hey guys and thanks to all of you who replied! I figured this thing out - While I was recording I noticed that I hadn't changed my sample rate to 48 kHz so I switched it midway (which probably is a very bad idea to begin with...) After following the instructions in this thread and converting the audio regions at 44,1 kHz to 48, cutting up regions works as expected. If there are any drawbacks to this method or anything to be careful about quality wise, I appreciate any hints or feedback. As you can tell by my approach, I am still at the very start of my recording endeavours...
  4. No, I basically just recorded them and wanted to start editing when this occured.
  5. Hey guys, the title says it all: I am trying to cut a region into two parts but somehow, instead of just being split in two, the second part gets nudged forward quite a bit and overlaps with the first one. I have my project set to "No overlap" but this happens in "Crossfade" mode as well. Tried it with cissors and marquee tool and get the same result in both cases. Does anybody have an idea why this is happening?
  6. Thanks for your thoughts! Haven't really noticed if there is a difference between small and bigger projects as often times, tracks are piling up the more a project progresses 🙈 But I think it might happen on all projects no matter the size. I'll definitely keep an eye out to confirm it though!
  7. It just happened again. Here is what I found: 1) Memory pressure is yellow. 13,76 Gb are being used, 2,14 Gb of files in cache and swap is 8,58 Gb. 2) I left it where it was for 10 minutes - no change so I figure it won't load at all (or even if it did after that, it really isn't practical to wait that long)
  8. Thanks a lot, I'll check that the next time I'm experiencing it! This happens across all projects and pretty much all the time. As I said, it's mostly occuring out of the blue when the session is open for some time which could indeed be hinting towards a RAM issue. I'll keep you posted, thanks so much for your tips!
  9. I am by no means a computer expert, all I know is that I need to load in orchestral libraries that take up quite some RAM and that then the Swap memory of the M1 chip comes into effect. So I thought that this would compensate for any RAM shortage, doesn't it? Also, the plugins are functioning normally after opening a project so I imagine they're being initialised then? They just seem to stop working at some point into the session...
  10. It just happened again and I tested native vs third party plugins and instruments. Turns out it only affects third party plugins.
  11. Afaik it's happening on all plugins, regardless of manufacturer, however can't verify right now because I restarted the project above and by now everything is working alright. I'll leave an update the next time this happens. I have 16Gb of RAM, Swap is regularly used when I'm working on projects in Logic. I'm running Logic on M1, Rosetta is not ticked in the info panel.
  12. I've been having this problem for a while now and would be very happy if anyone could give me hint how to solve it: Every once in a while (my impression is it happens especially when I've had a project open for a long time), either my plugin windows or my instrument windows or both are not opening fully anymore. I can't drag them out and all I can do to keep working is to restart the project which is quite annoying with the loading times for all the virtual instruments... Any ideas why this happens and how I can fix this?
  13. Thank you so much for the specifications and for taking the time to help!!
  14. Thank you so much, this works for now! However, I see two problems with this approach: 1) I still can't solo the Mix Out (e.g. in order to double-check whether everything's sounding fine in the recording) 2) Where would you apply general FX (EQ, Limiter, etc.) that are supposed to effect the whole thing? Would you add another Aux Track to the chain in order to make this work?
