  1. Hi David, Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately the problem happens even when all regions have same start and end points (It is a 3hr session at 96 though!)
  2. Hi All, I'm editing a league classical sessions with 13 tracks, so am using phase locked, group editing, in the groups settings. I enabled it initially (took a moment to process), took it out for a few minutes to drop in an individual track patch, now every time I click to enable the feature again it freezes up. Any ideas? I'm on the most recent version of logic. Thanks, Mark
  3. Here's an odd one....Whilst setting up auxes, and creating corresponding tracks in the arrange (or tracks is it called now?!) window, I created an arrange track whilst inadvertently selecting the stereo out. On trying to delete it from the arrange window I'm instructed it's protected (which doesn't surprise me), so cannot. I've tried configuring track header to show protection - switched on and off, but still get same message. Is there any way of removing the track now it's there?! Deleting auxes normally gives you the warning and option to delete from arrange but remain embedded, but there seems to be no sign of this option. I'm stuck! Any help appreciated.
  4. I've deleted a few channels from a multi (originally but now down to 12) but I'd like them back! Is there a way of doing this? They obviously show in the environment but I don't see an option to get them back. I'd rather not re-build the multi as it's tied to VE Pro. Also I'm not talking axes here, the original individual tracks of the multi. Any help appreciated.
  5. Worked for me too! David is clearly a genius!
  6. I've made that selection but no luck…see screenshot
  7. Brill thank! As knowledgeable as ever, Eric!
  8. Hi All, I am a long-term Logic 9 user but am having to learn Logic X (10.0.7) to tutor an evening class, as that's what the college are using. Whilst the majority of the new version makes sense, I do have one niggle… On my copy of Logic X the solo/mute buttons on the track header show as 's' and 'm' respectively, as per Logic 9. However, on Logic X at the college the controls show as a headphone icon, and another (can't remember). Is there a way to change this setting? I've tried 'configure track header' but there doesn't seem to be an option. Although I'm not on the most recent update (10.1), neither is the college so I can't see that this is the issue. Thanks in advance. Mark
  9. Hi All, I'm using Ivory II but am having problems with soft pedal samples. The samples are loaded on the interface, I have automated CC67 (soft pedal) on Logic 9 to full (127) but still hear no difference in the sound whatsoever. Am I missing something?! I'd love to be able to write with these samples so am keen to sort. Any help appreciated. Logic 9 | OS 10.8.5
  10. Thanks, I'll give that a go. Do you think my hardware specs might be up to the job then?
  11. Hi All, I've read numerous similar posts but as it's system-specific, I hope it's ok to post. I'm getting the sudden motion/disk is too slow error message a lot recently. The all important specs: Late 2009 iMac 27" quad 2.6 i5 12GB Ram (4/4/2/2) 1TB internal drive - Logic/projects running from here Logic 9.1.8 FW800 external - containing all sample libraries Presonus Firestudio Project (FW400 Daisy chained, so Mac-FW800 Drive-FW400 interface) OS 10.8.5 Most projects tend to feature as many sample library channels as I can run - a normal project might be something like 8 omnisphere/4 RMX Stylus/1 Cinestrings/a few other channels/various FX plugins. So, I'm wondering where the bottleneck is? Can it be pinned down to RAM or HD? Having initially considered purchasing/installing a 2nd internal drive - SSD, I'm now wondering whether that would give me the best 'bang for buck'. It's also a somewhat arduous task so I;d rather avoid unless it's clearly the Achilles Heel. For around the same price as a 500GB SSD I could purchase 2x8GB sticks, pushing RAM to 24GB RAM. Specifically to running a lot of sample libraries, what is my best upgrade option within a £200 budget? (I've done the usual tweaks with buffer settings etc., might try an OS upgrade, also would Logic X upgrade benefit?) Any help greatly appreciated.
  12. Hi Eric, Thanks for the reply! I'm currently running an iMac in my studio, running sample libraries of a FW800 external drive, and a laptop which I use for remote recording and some track tidy up work, which also runs off the same sample drive. So ii I install Logic X on laptop I;d look to install content on FW drive. Am just wondering how compatibility would be when I plug FW drive back into iMac. I don't use a huge number of logic instruments nowadays so maybe it's not a buggy (plus I'll probably get a full copy of Logic X on iMac soon anyway - I have a single licence for Macbook at the moment).
  13. Hi All, I understand it's possible to run Logic X and Logic 9 concurrently on the same system. A further question though… I intend to download all content for Logic X and would be looking to download the content to the same destination - external FW800 drive, where the Logic 9 content already resides. Will Logic 9 be able to function and communicate with Logic X content once downloaded? I'm obviously trying to avoid having 2 huge folders of content L9 & LX (if that's even possible). There are reasons why I'm not currently able to just do a fully fledged upgrade and lose Logic 9. Any advice appreciated. Mark
  14. Thanks you both for the suggestions. I (surprisingly) heard back from CME fairly quickly, they said that the jack insert point on the CME was not compatible with the m-audio pedal and that the Roland EV3 id the best bet, so I'll try one of these. Cheers
