Hello! I've been struggling with this seemingly elementary problem for over a couple hours. I'm not importing any audio or using any MIDI tracks. I started a brand new session and decided I wanted the session to start at one BPM, speed up, and end at another BPM. Therefore, I set up the tempo change to just one diagonal line, then I recorded one part. Upon playback, the track falls off of the click track and flexes all over the place. I've tried SMPTE locking, I've enabled and disabled flex, I've reset all flex edits (they keep on coming back and nothing seems to move, I've tried removing original recording tempo, I've tried re-recording it with different settings, I've turned off Flex & Follow...I'm truly confused.
The click track speeds up when recording, as I want it to, but upon playback I can hear flex artifacts and the track drifts off the click track entirely. It's almost as if it was recorded fine, but Logic decides to maybe flex the recording afterward to speed it up even more to match the BPM change that's programmed, even though the BPM was programmed before recording. Why can't I simply set up a variable grid to structure my session around? Is there something I'm missing or am I experiencing a glitch?
Thanks so much for reading through!
