  1. Yep! It has been set to keep throughout all of my troubles.
  2. I still feel like quirky things are happening that I cannot explain. Today, with the same project, I programmed some more specific tempo changes in the session, recorded to this tempo change, then I created a new track to double the part that I already had recorded, and after I finished the first take, changes were made to the tempo markers I set. Now, if I undo recording, the tempo markers return to where I set them. If I redo recording, the tempo markers become displaced again. I'm feeling as though there must be something in the settings that I'm missing that has been making things difficult for me.
  3. I do not have it set to "go to sleep," so I'm not sure. That's a good thing to keep in mind, though. Thank you.
  4. Ok then what I would recommend at this point is to do a little experience: 1. Start a new empty project. 2. Create your tempo curve with the tempo ramping up as desired. 3. Turn on the metronome so that you can hear it on your speakers. 4. With your mic, record the metronome playing back through the speakers. Your recording should be perfectly in sync with the grid. Thanks so much for your immediacy and attentiveness. My problem has been resolved. Creating a new session didn't do it... but silly enough, after restarting then creating a new session, things seem pretty normal. Thanks so much again!
  5. And you're still hearing Flex artifacts? I was convinced that I was, now I think I'm going a bit nutty and have lost all objectivity because I've been troubleshooting it for maybe three hours now.
  6. Yes, that situation was clearly established in your first post, no problem. The first step is to make sure Flex is off. Assuming you start from a new empty project and simply create your tempo curve as desired then record to the click, Flex shouldn't be on and you shouldn't have any sync issues. Yes, these were my thoughts exactly, and I quadruple checked all of the potential problems I could imagine, yet the playback doesn't match the click.
  7. Flex & Follow has been set to off the whole time, so I'm very confused.
  8. Maybe I should simplify my situation. I set the tempo to speed up. I recorded the part to the click which sped up. I hit play and it falls off the click track...and it is not my performance that is flawed. I hear artifacts of time being stretched during playback.
  9. Yep! All of that was and is how you are suggesting it should be, yet I'm still having the same problem.
  10. Thanks so much for the quick response. I'm not using flex. I started out with everything turned off. It seems it has flexed all on its own. Is the BPM automatically altering the tempo?
  11. Hello! I've been struggling with this seemingly elementary problem for over a couple hours. I'm not importing any audio or using any MIDI tracks. I started a brand new session and decided I wanted the session to start at one BPM, speed up, and end at another BPM. Therefore, I set up the tempo change to just one diagonal line, then I recorded one part. Upon playback, the track falls off of the click track and flexes all over the place. I've tried SMPTE locking, I've enabled and disabled flex, I've reset all flex edits (they keep on coming back and nothing seems to move, I've tried removing original recording tempo, I've tried re-recording it with different settings, I've turned off Flex & Follow...I'm truly confused. The click track speeds up when recording, as I want it to, but upon playback I can hear flex artifacts and the track drifts off the click track entirely. It's almost as if it was recorded fine, but Logic decides to maybe flex the recording afterward to speed it up even more to match the BPM change that's programmed, even though the BPM was programmed before recording. Why can't I simply set up a variable grid to structure my session around? Is there something I'm missing or am I experiencing a glitch? Thanks so much for reading through!
