well I gave logic pro x a valiant try but its useless with out the ability to manage multitimbral instruments. I wanted to use it for film score type stuff but its just crap now. So disappointed. I know people are doing it but the amount of time to figure it out and set it up is unbearable. Sucks you can't use PT11 because of no support for other plugins except AAX.. you can't use PT10 because of no 64 bit.. Presonus is nice.. but no video support (bouncing out the song and video together) man i bought all these DAWs and not one of them is useable in this application. Guess I will give cubase demo a try.. : ( why can't this be easy? So frustrating. the composer is really out of luck these days. maybe its just back to Sibelius

Can somebody please point me to a good post or video on how to effectively use Vienna Ensemble 5 with LPX? Im so thoroughly pissed off right now trying to make this work that if I find a developer in person.. OH BOY BAMMMM.... I can set it up in Studio One and PT11 in about 1 minute.. I can't figure out for the life of me how the FK to set it up in this nightmare called an upgrade.. Sorry just very pissed off right now.. LOL im not even starting on the mixer... Thanks all : )

Yeah those are all culprits we were looking into. Its only Audio Tracks and nothing else. No sync devices present.. I've tried the undo history and didn't work.. Neither of us used Flex, groove quantizing etc. Just straight tracks.. I do know that rebooting the machine or changing the buffer up or down and then back also fixes the problem. I need to do more in depth testing on this. Now that I'm not the only one. Ill get on it tomorrow when i have more time. thanks for the replay and keep chunking ideas at me..

Bump this up.. I'm not the only person with this problem. Just had a friend call me and tell me he recorded for a few hours all the sudden the tracks started playing back out of time. He restarted and now some of the tracks are screwed.. This is a problem has anybody else seen this?

Wondering if anybody else has had this problem. Lately LPX has been shifting things out of time. Mostly when I use Drummer Track. It will be fine for awhile then all the sudden audio tracks are completely out of time. If I change the Latency it bitch slaps it back to working right.. Not sure whats going on but LPX is on the shelf for now, just too many bugs.. don't get me started on the mixer errr.. any ideas?

Thanks David. Man I love the new Logic alot. I just wish they would have rebuilt the mixer. No clip gain and not being able to arrange channels from the mixer is annoying (or maybe i just dont know how LOL) Oh well maybe later on, now that they spent so much time on the other stuff maybe mixing will be next. I would like to ditch Protools all together but until then. im stuck with it for mixing. I would like to see them take StudioOnes metronome design and stick it in logic. There is a little button above every output channel and a little fader along with it. If you turn it on it sends the click out to that track without creating another buss (including the mains) anyway, im just rambling now.. Again thanks for the headsup on the metronome.. hopefully a LPX book is in the works?

well I cant find the environment.. hmm.. anyway. Im trying to route the metronome to multiple output on my MOTU 828 Mk3 One person doesnt want it and the others want different levels. I can only route it to one output. Is this correct? Also when assign a buss to a channel like buss 1, it always shows up preconfigured with a reverb and its names. I just cant find where the hell that was named so I can change it. I went to the I/O assignments and Labeling and changed it to a user name but it didnt work. Any ideas? Thanks all

Yeah now I think I screwed up something. I was watching the MacProVideo tutorials on the new Drummer Plugin. When he was changing the snares and cymbals in real time. He had like 10 snare and a bunch of cymbals. I opened my project and I only have 3 Snares 3 kicks and no cymbals at all. Hmmm. So I goto Library/Application Support/Logic/Drummer/ and all I see are a Default.glibb GenreCharacterMap and a Presets folder. Now I was thinking that maybe I needed to make an alias path the the drum samples on the other hard drive. I do just that and put the alias into that above folder and NOTHING. LOL... Hmm wonder what i screwed up. I hope I dont have to delete this and reload it from scratch. Any ideas Edgar?

Hey here is what I hope is an easy question. But I cant seem to find the answer to it.. How do I delete measures 1 through 147 and shift all of the other data back and have all of my time sig and tempo changes move with it? still no clip gain.. hmm

Hey thanks you da man, I tried what you posted but it didnt work in the patches folder. I couldnt get it to show up as a user patches option BUT.. I did experiment and I put that Alias folder into my EXS Factory Samples Folder and it worked.. So what I did Created a folder on External Drive called Logic Libraries Right Clicked on that folder and "Create Alias" I placed that folder into Main Drive/Library/Application Support/Logic/EXS Factory Samples I then copied all files 20gig over to the Logic Libraries Folder on the external Drive. Then Deleted the EXS Libraries off my main boot drive I now have 20 Gig of free space.. I did refresh library at the bottom of the library window. At first when I loaded Drummer it said download more content but I selected a different patch and it adjusted and found it. Thanks for the heads up and work around..

Sorry if this has been asked over and over? as we all have done.. LOL.. Im downloading the sounds and my SSD is not big enough (128g) for the full logic library blah blah blah LOL.. Can the sound libraries be moved? The downloader isnt allowing us to pick a different destination like L9 did. Thanks.. and holy bat s#!+ bat man LPX is amazing.. and I just STUPIDLY bought PT11.. errrrr

Typically a good rule of thumb is the chord the song starts with is the Key of the song. If it starts on the V chord you will hear its cadence resolving to a I chord. If not then the last chord of the song is usually a good bet thats the key of the song because the V-I cadence or resolution is what your ear wants to hear for finality.. Also when a verse starts over it usually tags to a 1 chord (the songs key) The vocalist have to find their note with the I chord. Not being a jerk or anything but Music theory really isn't that hard at all. Take some lessons or hit youtube to learn about chord scales and basic chord progressions. It will really set you free when you are listening to a chord progression go by. Also practice hearing the difference between major and minor. I hear a lot of "Remixers" completely screw this up. They start mixing a major song with minor parts and it sounds stupid. Anyway enjoy
