  1. I just opened Logic's default template tried it there and now I can now easily show the 2 midi tracks together in the score by choosing "All Instruments" in the Filter. But why is it that this doesn't work on my own template?
  2. 5 years ago, I made all types of scores on logic pro. I haven't used it in awhile. Forgot everything. I have 2 tracks. One piano, one vocal. Logic score shows only the piano score. But I also want the vocal staff on top of the piano staff. I select both tracks, but it only shows piano. I filter out "all instruments," etc, etc...nothing works. I watched youtube videos and did exactly what they did, but mine just won't budge. I think in the past, I had everything on one midi track and just used the midi channels to move them to different staffs. But right now, I want to be able to see my 2 midi regions on 2 separate tracks together in the score. That's all.
  3. I noticed that the power button doesn't behave like the way it use to. As I remembered, turning off the track's power button meant the entire track was dead, couldn't play anything sounds through it, didn't tax the computer no matter how many plugins were on it. Today when I went to turn off the track, I could still play the VI's through it. And it didn't take any processing off. Same happens with audio tracks. It just does nothing but greys out the region. Turning off track does nothing to help with processing (VIs or audio tracks). Wasn't like this before. Is it broken?
  4. Thank you! Yes, my pedal is on an off only. Hope I can fix it or get it fixed.
  5. Thanks for your help and replies. I have a Yamaha FC4A Sustain Pedal. I found the culprit. It's my Roland A-49 midi controller keyboard that is causing it. it doesn't happen on my other keyboards. Strange.
  6. My sustain pedal use to only register an On (127) and Off (0) midi data only. But for some strange reason, it's now registering midi datas between 0-127...kinda like a continuous controller. It makes for editing the midi sustain in the piano roll impossible! Is there anyway to force the piano pedal to register only ON and Off data ?
  7. Appreciate your reply. I'm happy to report that the issue is gone. As mysteriously as it came, it mysteriously left. (But the problem was not happening in my own setup...it was happening when I was using my laptop somewhere else. Now that I'm back home, the issue is gone. Truly strange.) (My audio interface is NI's Komplete Audio 6. Yes my sig is up to date.)
  8. This issue started appearing today. I play a note on the controller keyboard, note will sound through the VI.... wait 25 seconds...play a note...it will not sound. Press it again, then it will sound again. And when I go 25 seconds without inputting a midi note, the first midi note I play will not sound again. But in the control and display bar, it will acknowledge the midi note being played, but no sound will output. I've trashed preferences...no luck. Tried a new blank template file...no luck. It happens with logic's own input keyboard as well, so it's not a controller issue. I saw this issue mentioned somewhere else, but no reply to that question.
  9. How are you guys installing Yosemite ? Update install or a complete clean install ? Which is recommended ?
  10. It can't be by design ? None of Logic's previous versions exhibited this behavior. And it causes too many unnecessary mouse clicks. Anyhow, I'm getting quite use to quantizing with the Inspector. Just have to remind myself to "apply quantize destructively" often now. I'd say the whole quantize thing is a bit buggy. Even in the piano roll, I found that if you set the strength to any figure other than 100%, it'll still quantize at 100% regardless (sometimes). Like you have to move the strength slider once in awhile to "wake it up."
  11. I just trash Logic's preference and opened a completely new empty project. It still does it. The moment I change the quantize (and even strength) in the piano roll, it'll be reflected in the MIDI THRU in the inspector as well. I've now changed how I quantize events. I just do my quantizing with Inspector now and bypass the one in the piano roll. Not what I'm used to, but it keeps me from pulling my hair out.
  12. This is really driving me crazy. 1.) I'm in the arrange window, no regions are selected. In the inspector, the Region: Midi Thru "quantize" is OFF. 2.) Now I'm in the piano roll, and in the piano roll's quantize section, I choose 1/16 and quantize the notes. 3.) Now back in the arrange window, no regions are selected. The Region:Midi Thru in the Inspector now shows 1/16 quantize. WTF ? This means that if I record another part to any regions, it will automatically quantize to 1/16 (and not destructively either). I don't want that !! On top of that, if I now record 32nd notes, it will be quantized to 16th notes automatically. I find I have to constantly turn "quantize OFF" in the region inspector menu. Constantly jumping back and forth between the quantize in the piano roll and the quantize in Inspector. Ridiculous. How can I keep the quantize in the Midi Thru permanently OFF. This never happened in Logic 9.
  13. Hi Ski. I'm currently going through your score editor tutorial from macprovideo, and it's terrific. Getting a lot out of it so far!
  14. How can I achieve this type of grace note (the sixteenth notes) in score editor ?
