  1. Yes, you're right. Good idea! I tend to want to figure things out when they're not functioning, but I realize that this will not have a very clear solution until an update. Now, that would be amazing, in more ways than one! 😂 Thanks again for your help! 🙏
  2. Hi @oscwilde! My apologies for the delayed response (pun not intended!); I was unfortunately sidelined by COVID-19. I sincerely appreciate your assistance with this issue, and I'm relieved to know it's not just on my end. I investigated the issue on my iPad and discovered that Quantize appeared to be enabled (using the "i" button that opens the Region settings); I disabled Quantize. However, there seemed to be no option to adjust quantize within the Piano Roll Editor on my iPad. I subsequently opened the file on my Mac, disabled Quantize, and the beat remains out of sync with the metronome, just as before. I'm perplexed as to why it didn't work for me. Would you be able to re-send the file with the fix so I can investigate why it didn't work for me? In the meantime, I've found a workaround by creating multiple Quick Sampler tracks of drum hits and placing them in a summing stack, which functions perfectly. It's not the most elegant solution, but it'll do for now. Additionally, I tested a Drummer track, and it played in perfect sync. Therefore, it appears to be a DMD-specific glitch. Speaking of glitches, I suddenly recalled experiencing DMD issues in Logic on Mac around 2021. I even posted about it here: Apart from creating my own Drum Bus with Quick Samplers or Drum Synth tracks (as I've done again on my iPad), I never found a solution. However, it seemed to resolve itself after some PDC issues were addressed. Perhaps this PDC issue persists in the iPad version of Logic Pro? I'll keep digging into this issue and see if I can find a more permanent solution. Thanks again for your help and your willingness to assist me!
  3. Thank you for the reply and offer to check the project! I'm attaching it here. I also have an arp-type sound playing, which is muted, but it's always in time, and the DMD drums never are. Let me know what you hear on your end. Thanks again! 🙏 Edit: I actually just opened the file in Logic on my M1 Mac, and the same thing is happening, so I'm not sure what's the cause of the issue. It really does seem like a DMD-specific thing. EOTP - Clouds.logicx.zip
  4. Hey all! I’m experimenting with Live Loops in LP for iPad, and I programmed a basic 4/4 beat that is being used as a kind of bed track. However, while creating the pattern in Drum Machine Designer, I kept realizing that the drum track was slightly off the click, like with a heavy swing or latency, but no swing setting is turned on. It’s enough to sound really out of time with other elements I’ve programmed into the track. Everything else (MIDI, recorded sounds) is perfectly in time. But no matter which samples I choose, DMD is slightly off the beat. I verified that it’s properly programmed “on the grid” in the Pattern region, and I even made sure to edit the drum samples themselves in case there was any silence before the sample plays. I then transferred the loop into the arrangement, converted the pattern to a MIDI region, quantized, and it’s still playing with a latency. I’m using an iPad Pro 11-inch, 2nd generation, pre-M1. I began to assume that my iPad was just unable to process everything, hence the latency. But it doesn’t explain why every other track is able to be perfectly in time. Has anyone come across this before? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
  5. Loving 10.8 so far! One question: when opening up a project, anyone else have the Loading "[Project Name]" text missing from the loading bar? Perhaps this is now normal behaviour? Not sure why they would remove that, though.
  6. Did you look at the links @des99 posted above? The first one (that I posted) literally is talking about your window issue from back in Nov 2022. The second link, same thing. We weren't asking about AUHostingService. In my post, I even uploaded a screenshot to show the exact same thing you're talking about. And it's been asked several times here since then. One thing I wanted to mention: when I first posted in Nov 2022, this window occurrence was a mild nuisance. Now, I don't even notice it. I find it a fantastic trade off for how well Logic is running, how little crashes I have, and how many instances of CPU-heavy plugins I can use without the dreaded "system overload" error. I think you'll go through the same thing, and slowly just find "acceptance." Like the 5 steps of grief or something. 😂
  7. As most of our “Logic Pro for iPad” trial periods are soon ending, or even ended, depending on whether you grabbed it on the day of release or not, I’m just wondering: are people continuing with a monthly or yearly subscription? Why or why not? Interested to hear about people’s thoughts and experiences! 🧐😊
  8. Ah, yes I see that now! So, then, I'm assuming there's no way to go through various Producer Kits (which are all summing stacks) with my own plugins locked in on the main summing stack, other than to copy and paste the Channel Strip setting?
  9. Ah, I had no idea about this function, thank you! However, it seems like it doesn't work on the Drummer bus, only on individual tracks within the bus. When I have my Producer Kit selected (where I have most of my Drum Bus plugins on), the "Enable Merge Patching" option is greyed out. 🤔
  10. Thank you so much, @Jordi Torres! That was exactly what I was looking for, much appreciated! Lastly, do you happen to know if it's possible to switch to these Producer Kits without losing all the plugins from the current kit? I assume the solution is to copy & paste the channel strip, but wondered if there was also a "lock" function on your plugins while switching through kits. Thank you! Edit: Oh yes! An additional benefit to the Producer Kits is that I can finally change the pans on the hats and toms, which was driving me crazy. Huzzah! 🤪 (I prefer to mix the drum kit as if I'm sitting at the kit with my hats and high tom on the left, not from the audience perspective) Edit 2: I just realized by switching the hats and toms around, one has to be aware that if they use the "room," "overhead," or "pump" tracks, you'll have to use the Gain utility plugin to swap the L&R channels, since those are following the original panning.
  11. Hey all! So, I've been experimenting more with Logic's Drummer Tracks recently, to simplify some demo recording. A bit late to the game on this, I had this personal hang-up about only programming my own drums and never using Drummer, as it felt like cheating. Anyways, really enjoying the ability to churn out ideas faster and not getting lost in the intricacies of drum programming. One thing I've noticed is that a bunch of the Rock/Alternative Drummers have a room reverb or plate to their sound. However, if you want to throw a bit of heavy compression, distortion, etc., onto the track, you're basically also compressing/distorting the room sound with it. What's even more odd is that almost all the Drummer tracks also have a bus send automatically added for a reverb/plate, if one wants to add it. I'm surprised they didn't make the kits completely dry so that we have more control over the room sound. Is there a way to make the drummer tracks more dry without resorting to using a transient shaper? (Nothing wrong with using the transient shaper, it's definitely a solution for now. But just wondered if I could get a dry sound directly from the source.) Apologies if this was already addressed somewhere else. I searched through many old threads, found lots of tips about Drum Machine Designer's reverb, but didn't see this particular question asked about Drummer. Many thanks in advance!
  12. Beat Breaker... Looks like something akin to Gross Beat in FL Studio, or the Time Module in Cableguys' ShaperBox. Hopefully it will appear with the next Logic Pro update!
  13. Thank you, @des99! Good to know this is normal behaviour. Much appreciate your quick response! 🙂
  14. (Didn't want to create a new thread, since this seems to be related to this new update.) Anyone else having the issue of the first instance of any plugin you load in appearing as a small window before the plugin fully loads? At first, I thought it was due to some plugins running on Rosetta, but this ShaperBox3 is M1 compatible and recently downloaded. It's a very small nuisance, but it seems like some kind of glitch. Or, at least, that's not how plugins used to load up for me before. Wondering if there's something I should check into? Many thanks!
  15. My bad, I was going by the information of the Tech Specs on the Logic Pro page here: https://www.apple.com/logic-pro/specs/ I'm assuming that's for the previous version then.
