  1. Indeed. Templates are made with clay, not stone.
  2. A not-infrequent question. @Studio162A has dug up the right thread addressing it, and nothing has changed since.
  3. I also own Ivory. I think it’s the “Ivory Tools” you want. It’s a Synthogy program that comes with the software. That’s what tells Ivory where to find the library. I’m not sure why a new interface would require that reconnection, but it’s worth a try. In any case, third party sampling software rarely if ever relies on Logic to establish library locations.
  4. Strictly speaking, the Piano Roll's Inspector is actually a "Local Inspector." Key commands on the other hand tend to be global (unless there's another higher on the hierarchy). If it's selected, and it's an appropriate key command, it'll work in any window. So adjustments in a local inspector may reasonably be limited, but KCs have a broader scope. That's probably for the best. Another thought: a slider in PR adjusts the velocity relative to velocities already present. Two notes at vel 30 and vel 60 -- adjusted plus 10 -- makes for vel 40 and 70. Now imagine dragging an art ID up 10 and getting the same relative (not identical) shifts in IDs in two separate notes. (They'd need to program it so shift-option select to get identical Art IDs.) Logic is trying to keep things sane and limit damage, and that's always a judgement call -- helpful sometimes, and sometimes frustrating.
  5. That's interesting, and I never realized it. The Piano Roll allows for multiple region/track viewing, but the local articulation menu is track-specific. As soon as a second track's region is added to Piano Roll, the articulation menu is greyed out. It'll read out a selected note's articulation, or an asterisk for differing articulations for multiple selected notes, but the menu ceases to be adjustable. And yet, you can adjust velocity for all selected notes irrespective of their track. I'm guessing the programmers fear the kind of chaos that could happen when multiple tracks whose articulations are not aligned (like your choir) are shifted to the same art ID.
  6. I'm not sure what this means. Logic's articulations are only a sequence of data sends, often keystrokes, though sometimes CC data. Logic is unaware of what actual sounds are generated in its Articulation Sets. Fear not. As you say that you can select all of your target notes in Piano Roll (viewing multiple tracks at once), you can use key commands. Go into the KC menu and search "Articulation." You'll find KC's for articulations 1 to 32. Though I have not proofed this, any selectable note in Piano Roll (no matter its home track) should respond to Set Articulation commands. So "Set Articulation 1" "a" would set everything to that vowel, "Set Articulation 2" "e" likewise. You'll need to assign those KC's. They have no default. As for doing this by bar, that would require setting the cycle to the bar, then "Select Inside Locators," then perform the KC.
  7. My assumption is that you want to stay on Monterey. Mastering Assistant premiered with Logic 10.8, and that requires Ventura 13.5 or higher. I don’t think Logic 10.8.x is possible on Monterey.
  8. In the following movie, the Score format is the common 16/24 setting. The underlying notes on the third beat are thirty-seconds. The key signature (unseen) is E major. Double-clicking on the tuplet marking ("3") will open a window in which you can reset the note durations per beat. Yes, it is odd that one clicks on a tuplet to make thirty-second notes. It's somewhat of a hidden feature. (Septuplets are also done this way.) If the tuplets do not appear automatically, they can be dragged onto the beginning of the third beat from the Parts Box, and if the actual notes (observable in Piano Roll) are metrically correct, you should be able to coax this printout. Good on you for forging ahead with Logic Score after a more dedicated engraving program. If you struggle with this, you might try excising the bar in question and posting it. Someone here should help.
  9. With Ventura 13.6 in Finder, Control + Shift + arrow keys select objects on my desktop. You could see if your OS is stopping the commands from getting through to Logic. ... But, I still can assign Control + Shift + arrow keys in Logic.
  10. To see note labels in Piano Roll, the track object needs to be a Mapped Instrument. These are found in Environment. If you double-click on a Mapped instrument in Environment, you'll see where to enter the note labels. As @Dr.Socrates says, the first picture has a non-drum instrument selected in Tracks. But it's the Mapped instrument in Environment assigned to a track that actually causes labels to be seen. So any instrument -- not just drums -- can be mapped with labels. Some people use them in keyswitched orchestral patches as reminders of what note triggers what articulation.
  11. As a diagnostic, you could check Settings > General > Start Up Action. Options there include "Select a Template" and "Create New Project Using Default Template." This does not account for the inconsistency you describe, but it does remind us that Logic's opening behavior is based a preference, hence the Preferences file.
  12. For those deeply invested in Vienna Symphonic Library, it's as big a deal as it gets... though I see no mention of this issue yet on their forum. The irony is, for years VSL's previous "eLicenser" was much-maligned, and the wholesale shift to iLok required a complete re-download of all libraries. But its very "bigness" makes me think the fix will come expeditiously. Yes, I am too. That heinous experience with the Sonoma graphics bug in Logic 10.8 with a Mac Intel has left me in deep avoidance mode. Mark Twain: "“If a cat sits on a hot stove, that cat won't sit on a hot stove again. That cat won't sit on a cold stove either." That might be said for OS versions, long after the bugs have been fixed.
  13. In Logic, it's called "Invert Selection." The default key command is Shift-I. Just got it in under the wire. 😄 Thanks David.
  14. I think this is it. Further proof of the regularity of the request.
  15. You got it. 👍 Try clicking on your name, then click "View My Activity." I'm not sure how far back it goes, though.
