  1. Hello, I seem to be getting this error message after updating to 9.1: This application cannot continue because of error: coreFoundationUnknownErr. Any thoughts on how I can fix this? Thanks!
  2. Hi, I am trying to bend around some orchestral music to add some additional tracks on top of it. To do this, I need to lock it to a tempo and then manipulate it a bit to conform to a constant, non-rubato tempo. To do this, would I first beat map the piece so I have the downbeats in the right spot and then turn on Flextime and move those positions around? It seems like this is the way to go, but just wanted some guidance on this before i waste hours of time. Thanks in advance.
  3. You're issue with it just hanging there might be a preference where you choose if you want it to open a blank session, do nothing, etc. You may have to tweak that preference. Anyone have any other thoughts on the overview redraw at the beginning of every session?
  4. Hi, I have a quick question. It is regarding the overview drawing at the launch of a session. I recently switched from doing drums in Pro Tools to coming over to Logic 9 because of the cool drum and Flex features. The issue is that when we record drums we do many takes with many drums and to open that session up takes forever. Not to keep referencing PT, but when I open the session up, it is immediately open and ready to go. Not so with Logic 9. Is there a preference for this that I am missing although I do need to see the waveforms in order to comp and edit? Is anyone feeling my pain in this? Thanks in advance.
  5. Duh!! How could I have not seen that?!?!? Thanks!
  6. Hello, Please excuse the newbie nature of this question, but I haven't come across this in my use of Logic so far and I can't figure out how to do this very simple (I'm sure) automation thing. I need to automate my bus send from my click track to the headphone amp. I would figure this would be an easy thing, but I look at automation for the track itself and I don't see an options to choose Bus 1 in automation. Where would my automation lane be for a bus send on a track? Can anyone please walk me through this very quickly? Thanks so much in advance.
  7. This is such a bummer! All the applications that I use don't do this: Logic: No quick swipe in MIDI Live 8: No comp features Pro Tools: No MIDI playlists I only hope that they will include this as a 9.x update somewhere along the line. Logic is supposed to be the kind of all MIDI functions. Oh well...
  8. I'm really excited about L9! One feature that I was hoping would be fixed/added in the latest version is the ability to use Quick Swipe with MIDI tracks. Does anyone know if this was added? Thanks so much!
  9. What an awesome tip! This has bothered me for so long. Thanks so much!
  10. The title says it all. I am running Melodyne 3.2.2 Rewired to L8 using the Melodyne Bridge. I can start and stop playback if Logic is the front application, but cannot when the Melodyne application window is up. It is kind of a pain to have to switch to Logic to play and stop when I am working in Melodyne. Am I missing something simple here? Thanks in advance for any help on this... Neil
  11. Perfect! Thanks so much.
  12. Hello, I was wondering if anyone had any experience (or if it is possible) to have headphone sends set up in L8? By this, I mean that I have a mix set up in the control as usual, but I take a send (or some other bussing method) from each track and send individual levels for each track out to a mix for the talent in the live room. This "submix" then can be sent to my headphone amp and out to the other studio rooms. In this, they could have their own custom headphone mix while the mix in the control room stays the same. Can this be done with success in Logic and if so, any experienced advice would be much appreciated? Thanks!
  13. Hi, Sorry to reference a Pro Tools/Live command, but here is something that I haven't been able to figure out in Logic 8: I have various regions on my audio track. In PT (or Live 7), I can highlight a certain time that includes these regions, "consolidate", and then the highlighted section becomes an audio file itself. To note here is that it includes blank space included in the highlight as well as the already recorded regions on the track. I have been trying to find a way to do this in L8. I know that I can export the track and then drag it from the bin to a track, but is there a way to do this in the track itself? I have tried to use the pencil tool and put a blank audio region before and in between recorded regions on the track and then merge so that it is one long continuous file, but it doesn't work this way. I have also tried to use the Marquee tool as I would in PT with the highlighted section with no avail. How can I achieve what I am looking for? Thanks!

Press "G" on your computer keyboard to unfold the global tracks.
  15. I have to say that even though the workflow isn't as I was used to in Pro Tools, the comping capabilities in L8 are stunning! That, for me, is the worth the price of admission.
