Its a shame that it doesn't work like that. I do wish that people wouldn't make judgments about what it a good idea or not. In this case i was just jamming some beats on and it would have been useful. Just answering the question without justifying logics behaviour would have been fine. Maschine has this ability its not impossible its fun and useful in some cases. Point taken about Logic not knowing what I am about to play, hmm I guess I might be early all the time

I cant find a way of making the quantize setting effect what I hear when I play. The notes sound out of time (true to my bad timing) but are recorded in time at my inspector quantize setting. Is there a way to quantize the notes so that they sound at the specified division when played live ? Thanks

Its weird Currently - decreases by 1 but when I try to change it to shift - its does not change shift = increases by 1 but changing it to = makes no difference. Its like the key commands are locked for these two keys ?

Hey Ski Thanks for taking the time to respond, I am aware of these points. I agree in principle but the reality is I only use a few key commands without the labels as I forget how they have been assigned. I will give the labels a go but might remove them if they are not helping. the problem I'm having is I can not re map the - or = key to increase/decrease parameter by 1. It simply does not work. I read another user posting about problem with the mapping of the num pad being swapped with the number keys on the main part of the keyboard. I'm wondering if this is the problem here. Can you map - & = to the decrease & increase as described ? Thanks

OK I am trying to set up Increase last paramater by one = (will not work) Decrease last paramater by one - (this works) Increase last paramater by ten shift= (this increases parameter by 1) Decrease last paramater by ten shift- (will not work) The results are exactly the same using learn by label or position - and = both work when set to show/hide transport. I am testing this out on the transpose ctl of exs 24. I have a macbook but am using the US standard layout as it matches the editors keys stickers but I want to mod it a little. Any ideas ?

I think I've confused myself here as I can't think of a reason why I would want to cancel & not replace the existing key command. mmm I'll be quiet then....

Hi When I'm trying to use a key but its already in use what can I do ? I normally assign the existing command to something I don't use but this seems messy. Is there a way to cancel an existing key command assignment to fee up the key? Thanks

Nice one that helps & thanks for that extra tip. This is the 1st time I've found the transform window useful in ages. Feels great to do some more advanced (for me anyway) stuff. I had maxed out my faders in a mix & needed to bring everything down & tis did the job nicely.

Thanks nosebagger, works great. I had to write all my un automated fader positions by setting automation to write & double clicking the fader. Then all tracks are effected by the transform. Is there an easier way of writing fader positions to automation data?

Thanks for clearing this up David, I too was searching got the "show selected regions" option. The manual also says "The Piano Roll Editor can simultaneously display the contents of all MIDI regions in a folder, all regions in a project, or several selected MIDI regions. " Is there a way to show all regions in a project without 1st selecting them in the arrange page? I would like a linked piano roll editor always showing all midi notes at that point in the song. Thanks

Yes I think I might have to play with my double click speed. The event list in particular seems to keep popping open when i am trying to adjust the length of midi notes in the matrix, oops piano roll. I will have a look at what makes it happen when I am back home. Cheers
