Brilliant! THANK YOU! been trying to crack this for days..

Hi folks, I´d be extremely grateful if anyone could share some advice, or even a link, to help this beginner with the following issue: Recording my digital piano into Logic is working just fine, and while recording I can hear the effect of pressing the sustain pedal. When I play back, however, the sustain is gone and the notes are heard just as long as I had them depressed.. I´ve spent a good hour trying to find an answer, so I hope that no-one is too put out that I give up and post the question! Thanks!
