  1. It's not connected to a laptop. The monitor and keyboard are specially made for rack mounted hardware and there is probably a mac pro in the same rack connected to the monitor and keyboard, possibly a laptop but this type of rack is used often in the IT world.
  2. Hey everyone, I just read an article about HD Audio by Mark Waldrep in the "Fade Out" section for July's Recording Magazine. Just a small background on Mark, he runs a record label called AIX Records that does not use the cd medium, instead they offer music on dvd and HD downloads. What I deduced from the article is that the standard for HD Audio is releasing the final form in 96khz/24bit. I'm not sure if this is the standard like the Redbook for cd's. Any thoughts on this? Is this going to be the new standard? Thanks for your thoughts and opinions.
  3. David, here's a link to the music video. It is Saul singing, well I think he's the one singing because he's moving his mouth in the music video and if he is, he can't sing.
  4. Not sure tiny. How can I check if I am displaying everything?
  5. Yes, it's just on one song. Whether or not (in stop mode) the song is playing, as long as the project is open, the humming exists. Here is another picture of the mixer panel. As you can see there is no visible noise on any of the track meters except for the output. Also, the volume of the hum fluctuates usually from -52 as shown to -49.
  6. Thanks for the reply. When I solo a random track, the buzzing actually more of a humming is still there. I have no aux tracks and when I mute all the tracks, the hum is still there. I have completely unplugged everything except for headphones because I can't hear it through my MBP's speakers. All other logic projects do not have that hum.
  7. Hello all, I am getting this low buzzing hum from my output 1-2 even when all my tracks are muted except for output 1-2. I have no plugins on for output 1-2 and when I mute it, then the buzzing stops but then of course I can't hear my track. I have nothing routed any specific way, all ten tracks are going straight to output 1-2. I get this sound whether I use my audio interface or the my MBP's built-in output. There are two bars in the output level meter and I don't know where it's coming from or how to get rid of it.
  8. I just reinstalled and everything is working great. Thanks so much.
  9. Hey everyone, I opened up a garageband file in L8 to do some remixing and L8 is telling me that I'm missing Hybrid Mor plugin when I open. Not exactly sure what it is but since I installed L8 and all the Jam Packs, some patches have been missing in garageband particularly default ones named "ornos brass" and "rotuma bells." These came with my computer and now their gone. I have no idea how to get those sounds and they are the basis for the song I have been working on. Please help, anyone!
  10. I agree Subtonic. When I first started recording muic, I used the default recording program on Windows 98. It was a pain in the ass but I never had to deal with eq or effects really besides having the option of adding echo and reversing. Of course nothing professional ever manifested from that system. Anyways, I've used Garageband for two years and it was wonderful and I made some decent quality music with it but eventually outgrew it and eventually crawled my way into the Logic world which I feel is the plateau. Now I can concentrate completely on creativity instead of technical limitations.
  11. Hi everyone, I'm new to the forums and I was just wondering if anyone could help me out. I have a MBP running LP8. I like to do some mastering using the MBP's internal soundcard just by connecting a Sony 7506 headphones. When I connect my M-Audio 410 FW to the computer and listen over my mix, everything is sounds distorted when I'm using the same headphones connected to the 410. No matter what volume it's at, the mix is distorted. Then I redo the mix, unplug the 410 and listen again and everything is super quiet. Mixing with the internal soundcard gives me the same result when I put the song on my ipod. When I mix with the 410, everything sounds completely different on my ipod which is what I use to listen to on numerous soundsystems.
