  1. Man, seriously, I wish more people left songs alone the way you did on this one (which sounds great btw.) My biggest problem with music today, and the thing I myself used to struggle with, is when we try to get EVERY LITTLE THING to be "perfect." (Sucks the life right out of a song IMO.) I can't stand melodyne or autotuned vocals. When did it become a crime to sing a note slightly flat? (Neil Young anyone?) And God forbid a kick drum is slightly ahead of a bass note. (What ever will we do!) I say let a song breathe. Let it have life. I'd rather listen to a song with great feel and energy that was recorded poorly than to a perfectly edited, constipated one. Honestly, from what I hear in your song, you have very nice recording and mixing skills. Just use your gut and try not to over analyze every little piece. I can name a hundred classic songs that have "little flaws" in them. I say it gives them personality... Though that's just my opinion really. HAve a good one.
  2. I would say do whatever it takes to make your song sound the best. If it means automating the adaptive limiter then automate the s#!+ out of it. So long as you're happy with the results. Not sure how common it is to do this but I'm sure there are people out there who do. I wouldn't worry so much about that though. HAve a god one
  3. Have you checked Preferences/Display/Piano Roll? Make sure they're set properly.
  4. This is strange. There seem to be... uh... what do you call it... uh... dyNAMics in this song. Very nice.
  5. Hi A quick guess but are you playing in the right octave? I've done this occasionally. Try dragging notes up and down the entire Piano roll. Any sound then?
  6. Hi all, Long story short, I needed to reinstall Logic 9 and after that no 3rd party plugins are recognized. To make matters even more bizarre my components folder is completely empty now but in my au manager I can see them there with upside down question marks next to their names. I'm stumped on this one. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, Thanks
  7. Hi I don't own these but sometimes you need to set your track to stereo instead of mono. Give that a shot. Hopefully it'll work for ya. HAve a good one.
  8. Hi Well, the best solution would probably be a combo of using automation and compressing the vocal to help smooth it out. It can be a pain when the song is long but it's pretty much the best way to go that I know of. HTH HAve a good one.
  9. Cool. Thanks for checking that out shiv. I thought it might help. I remember having to do something like this for audio to score and tempo changes. Thanks
