  1. Wanted to bump this topic due to no responses. If you are a Logic Pro and MainStage user and use Sampler, I'd kindly ask if you might try doing a "save as" for a Sampler instrument in both Logic Pro and MainStage. When using Sampler in Logic Pro (10.6.1), the expected behavior on a "save as" command gives you a checkbox at the bottom of the dialog box to "save with audio data". When I attempt this same process in MainStage, the "save with audio data" checkbox does NOT appear although the MainStage 3.5.1 Instruments Manual states that it should. I'm just hoping that at least one person can check this and verify that it is a bug, or at least incorrectly stated in the manual.
  2. Looks like your bug was specifically fixed in the 3.5.1 update. Can you confirm that it has been addressed and fixed?
  3. In Mainstage 3.5 and 3.5.1, when using either the "Save As" or "Save A Copy As" in the plug-in Settings pop-up menu, manual states that at the bottom of the dialog box there should be a “Save with audio data” checkbox to duplicate the samples and place them in a folder named after the Sampler setting file. It appears that this functionality is NOT present in 3.5 or 3.5.1. I can confirm this option works as expected in Logic Pro 10.6 and 10.6.1. I thought the 3.5.1 update would have surely fixed this. Can anyone else confirm this?
  4. While it is a bummer that the PG-8X developer all but gave up on supporting this plug, it resonates with me as the JX-8p was one of my first synths. I do love the sound of the plug despite its shortcomings and while the display still says “INIT TONE” after loading a preset, all the parameters in the programmer so load properly so I feel like my work was a real time saver for this particular plug. Hope these preset banks give a bit of new life for a plug that while no longer supported but still sounds great.
  5. Thanks for the tip des99!! Here are the 25 preset banks for PG-8X in one .zip file I will delete the other posts once this upload is verified. PG-8X.zip

  9. Hello all, I've benefitted greatly from this thread and would like to give back. This is my first go at it, so I'm sure those of you who might download this first batch of presets for the PG-8X will let me know if I got it right. If so, I have many more to contribute. I noticed a few users were looking for PG-8X banks. I think I've found and converted most all of them. For those of you who have the plug and it's working in your Logic Pro or MainStage, let me know if these are working for you! I have 25 banks and will post in ten bank increments.
  10. Gotcha. So I did back the preference files and plists just in case, made a logic app copy and renamed it Logic Pro x 10.4.8, then proceeded with the download. jsut got it, so still downloading the additional content. After that will open up a few projects, check them, then open a few up in 10.4.8 and see where I'm at. Really appreciate the feedback, advice and support. You all know how these things go. Just not wanting it to interrupt my workflow.
  11. Do I need to rename the Logic 10.4.8 prior to download and install?
  12. Also, regarding the previously installed "library" do I need to fully compress the entire 10.4.8 library? or will 10.5 share the existing 10.4.8 Library? Not trying to come off as a "noob" as I've been using Logic since v7, I just haven't been faced with this type of scenario since the with from Logic 9 to 10. At that time, I did have both copies running concurrently, but that was a while ago now and it was a pita.
  13. Theoretically yes, but me personally I would be a little nervous about the two versions of LogicPro accessing the same preference files. Some people are saying it seems to work fine though. Make sure you compress your 10.4.8 LPX before updating so that you can roll back, but if you really want to be complete you'll also compress all the logic preferences and Application Support files too. or maybe it will work fine going back and forth. (shrug). let us know! but back it all up first. 1. Will do on compressing before update 2. will do on compressing preferences and application support files. (just to be safe and have a backup if needed) I just opened a quick sampler preset in EXS24, using Mainstage. So yes...EXS24 can read the QSampler presets, and I presume Sample presets too. It must ignore the settings that are new and it doesn't know anything about. (knock on wood). That is good news as well as I'm a heavy MainStage user and was curious about that as well. I can totally understand that MainStage would ignore andy of the "new" parameters. (At least till MainStage update comes out, which hopefully won't be too long after) That being said, if you create a project in LogicPro 10.5 using instances of Sampler or QSampler, and then try to open the project in logicPro 10.4.8, the older version of LogicPro is going to complain that the Sampler/QSampler plugin doesn't exist. It doesn't know anything about it. You could manually put instances of EXS24 onto tracks and then load the Sampler/QSampler presets into them one by one...
