  1. Hoping some system exclusive wiz can give me a bit of direction here. I understand that few of you know the Montage peripherals. However, I would sure appreciate any insight on how even perhaps a motif was set up or some other USB keyboard. Thanks again
  2. I have not used Logic environment for recording Montage. I use the external instrument utility. The Montage also has some quick setup features for different types of recording. For me the online demos do not do this board justice. I feel it's a masterpiece of keyboard workmanship! I suggest you find one to demo, and go from there.
  3. I have the new Yamaha Montage. I can record midi and audio via USB no problem, however the "Super Knob" will not record its info to midi. I have been informed by Yamaha that I will need to adjust my system exclusive parameters in Logic Pro. Here is what the Super Knob does---- ( Create dynamic sound changes from radical to sublime with the Super Knob. The Super Knob can control multiple parameters simultaneously resulting in anything you can imagine. For example: change your listening position from right in front of an instrument to in the back seat of a concert hall. Or radically change the character of a Performance from atmospheric and mellow to rhythmic and edgy. The Super Knob can even be assigned to a second FC7 foot controller making it easy to manipulate the sound when playing with both hands.) This knob is very kool and the one knob controls many different parameters(at the same time) while turning it or using a foot pedal while playing. Have been using Logic for 12 years, but never delved into system exclusive. Help will be greatly appreciated.

    Change Gain

When using the change gain function in an audio file, I sometimes get small unpleasant audio artifacts left over from the process. Anybody know how to avoid this? Thanks
  5. Got it sorted out with Spectrasonics. They were very helpful. Found my Trilogy dat file but the Atmosphere dat file was missing. Which really concerns me. Had to create an alias without the name alias in it, then drag the it to another file. Maybe its time for me to use the Tech Tool on my system. Just wondering if you ever use it, and if it can cause problems with Logic at all? Thanks
  6. Sorry, David, I haven't explained myself that well. Initially I created a folder called plug-ins. All I put in it were my updates and installers. I left that folder on my desktop. My dat files for Atmosphere and Trilogy were installed in a Raptor (Atmosphere) and Lacie (Trilogy) drives. I don't know why I called it plug-ins, but I did. Just wanted a folder to keep all the installers and updates in one place. Then at some point that folder disappeared off my desktop. A few weeks later I turned Logic on and all my non- Logic plugs were gone. When I ran the Au setup they all had lines through them and weren't available. So I ran the installers for everthing. All plugs came back in the Au except Atmosphere and Trilogy. I found the plug-ins file with my installers and updates but it also the components in it . This folder also now has my dat files for Atmosphere, plus Ivory, BFD etc. Seems all very strange to me, that the folder I created disappeared, and then when I found it, there were dat files in it. Probably shouldn't have called that folder plug-ins. Neverthelss I need to create an alias of the Atmosphere dat files and drag them to the drives I want the dat info in. Must be doing something wrong as it isn't working yet. Does that make any sense? Thanks, Jayeson
  7. Thanks David. I ran the Au manager initially and all my non-Logic plugs were not available--line through them. So then I ran the installers for all the plugs. Got them all back except Atmosphere and Trilogy. The peculiar thing is that the initial file I made for my installers and updates called (Plug-ins) on my desktop now holds a folder called components. This components folder had the Atmosphere dat files on it. I really don't know if it should as I never put it there. Error message from Atmoshpere and Trilogy says not able to find dat files. Create an alias and drag files to drive. Must have done something wrong when I tried to create an alias, and drag it to my other drive as it doesn't work. Thanks
  8. A while back I saved all my plug-in installers and updates for Ivory, Akoustic Trilogy, Atmospere, BFD and RMX in a folder called plug-ins on my desktop. Went to load Logic yesterday and these plugs had now all become unauthorized and were not available. Ran the installer for all of them and got them all back except Atmosphere and Trilogy. Have been trying to get Spectrasonics Tech support but no luck so far. I had originally put Atmosphere on my Raptor drive and Trilogy on my Lacie. Error says missing Dat file. Funny thing is I see the Atmosphere dat file on this folder I created(plug-ins) because it now has a file called Components. Anyone had this problem? Would really prefer not to have to reload these plugs if possible. FIle management is really not my forte so a brief step by step if anyone can help would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks. 9. I have a Yammie es90 and usually do my recording playing it into audio tracks. I also use lots of auido instruments-Stylus, BFD TRilogy and Ivory. Don't really use midi editing much. But I believe there is a way to send the es90 into Logic and have it record as an audio instrument. Could someone briefly explain the process with the environment etc. Many thanks
  10. I have some drumtrax midi files that i load onto my BFD auido instrument track. They seem to be alittle out of sync at times. Drumtrax telll me they were recorded at 480 ticks per beat. Is there any way to transform just that track to sync them up better in Logic?. There may be a SMPTE issue also affecting the timing
  11. Im using BFD, IVory ,ultra focus and trilogy. I believe there all sampled at 44k. Is there any advantage other than saving CPU power by sampling plug-ins at 96k?. If not does logic pro alllow me to record the plug ins at 44 and then record audio tracks at 96k? within the same song. It seems that evertime I change my sample rate I have to reset the core audio. Also is it safe to download Mac 10.3.9 without any audio glitches on my system as finally all these plugins and logic seem to be working pretty good? 12. Does anyone know of logic pro plans to make VST plugs like BFD compatible to AU instruments without using an Au adapator?
  13. David I tried your workaround idea you sent me yesterday. May have not done it correct as I am new to Logic. Spoke to online logic support today and they didn't think it was possible by using a noise gate. If you think it is would it be possible to put it in simpler terms for this not to tech guy Many thanks JAyfield
  14. Bfd sounds great except I can't record the grooves from the librarian onto an audio instrument track. Is this possible to do by going through a bus or aux send? If not would a VST-audio unit adaptor solve the problem? Thanks Jayfield
