  1. Am I really the only one this happens to?
  2. Hi everyone. I like Logic 8 a lot, but I have been seeing some really bad behaviour after I hide the app. If I leave it hidden long enough, I'm unable to switch back to it. It appears in the app switcher, but when I try to switch to it, nothing happens. I eventually have to force quit, and relaunch. I'm good about saving often, so I haven't lost anything important yet, but this is pretty nasty. Does anyone else have this problem? (sorry if this is a repost, I can't find a search function in here?)
  3. Thanks, David, I'll try this out tomorrow. Am I crazy, or did this used to work flawlessly (i.e. without having to selelct a bar before your region)?
  4. Since 7.0 (I think), I've been unable to get the Crescendo transformer preset to actually select anything. I've tried all the different settings, but it still selects 0 items, and operates on 0 items. Suggestions?
  5. Cyanide 2.0 is absolutely indespensible for distortion: http://bram.smartelectronix.com/plugins.php?id=3 Ambience is a heck of a reverb. Pretty heavy CPU usage, but then, all good reverbs are; http://magnus.smartelectronix.com/
  6. You could try lowering the tempo in Logic. If the midi file plays back too fast, it may not work. worth a try, anyway.
  7. Ah, I see. Rereading your post, my problem is a little different (and worse) If I reassign the new track in the arrange page to a different object, both old and new tracks take the new assignment. Still trying to figure out when this happens, exactly. Oh well, glad you got your problem solved! Cheers.
  8. Looks great! Finally, a global LFO, woohoo!!! Check your email...
  9. Doug, I have this same problem sometimes. After creating a new track, any changes I make to the new track, are also made to the old track. It kills me! How did you fix it?
  10. Well, it IS a crossgrade, not an upgrade. If you think of it as a universal version, with a few extras thrown in, then it's not so bad. I do hope they have some cool stuff up their sleeves, though.
  11. The word on the street is $1995 for the Ensemble. I'm not sure about the PCI-Express version...
  12. Ctrl+Option works for me. The cursor is pretty sensitive - you have to have the mouse positioned precisely over the automation overlay for this to work.
  13. I've used the Mackie Control, the Yamaha 01x and the Tascam 1884. The Mackie Control wins, hands down. The faders, which is where you'll spend a lot of your time, of course, are absolutely fantastic to use. Mixing with them is a lot like driving a cadillac. It's a lot more expensive, but sometimes you get what you pay for. It also feels a lot more solid in general, and integrates very very nicely with Logic.
